Ice-T Is ‘Freezing’ on ‘Law & Order: Svu’ Set with ‘Blue Bloods’ Alum Who Joined the Cast

On Monday, actor and rapper Ice-T took to Twitter to share a short video in the freezing cold in New York City. In the footage, he revealed that a “Blue Bloods” alum was joining the “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU)” cast.

His clip revealed that he and the crew were feeling cold outside in the single-digit weather.

Ice-T’s video showed that “Law & Order: SVU” was welcoming back someone fans knew well. Season 20 will feature “Blue Bloods” and “NCIS” actress Jennifer Esposito.

Esposito recently appeared on “Blindspot.” In the clip with Ice-T, the pair was clearly freezing as they recorded the rest of the cast and crew.

He captioned the post: “On location NYC 7 degrees #SVU @JennifersWayJE  Kinda COLD...”

The actress previously starred as Jackie Curatola on “Blue Bloods” for nearly 50 episodes. In 2012, she left the show after her character took an indefinite leave of absence from the department.

On “Law & Order: SVU” Esposito will play Sgt. Phoebe Baker who runs the Vice squad. She will assist the SVU investigation into a "chain of pop-up brothels."

Her character’s back-story includes working with Fin played by Ice-T in Narcotics 20-years-ago. Esposito’s will appear on her first episode on February 14.

However, it isn’t clear yet if she will have a continuous role or a once off stint. In 2000, she appeared in an episode of “Law & Order: SVU” as a different character.

She also starred in two episodes of the original “Law & Order” in 1996 and 2006. Her most recent television roles include “The Affair,” “Mistresses,” and “Samantha Who?”

This year, the long-running series will mark its 20-year milestone. It first premiered on our television screens on September 20, 1999.

The main stars on the show are Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, Ice-T, and Richard Belzer.
