Actress Gabrielle Union, who is married to NBA star Dwyane Wade, took to Instagram to share a slideshow with her “shady baby” wearing matching bonnets.

In the image, Gabrielle appeared wearing a striped black and white blouse and a pink bonnet while holding her daughter, Kaavia James, in her arms. The girl was wearing a white and lilac onesie and a hat very similar to her mother’s.

Apart from their outfits, their facial expressions attracted a lot of attention. In the first image, the actress’ eyes and mouth were open as if she was surprised, while Kaavia’s face was serious.

REACTING TO THE POST

The next picture, though, showed both ladies flashing their smiles at the camera in the most adorable way. For the caption, Gabrielle (in Kaavia’s Instagram account) wrote, “we were just runnin to Target real quick, we didn't think we'd see anyone. We still cute tho,” [sic] followed by the hashtag “Shady Baby.”

As soon as that slideshow hit Instagram, the family’s followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

“too adorable; enjoy every moment creating a lifetime of memories,” suggested a user.

“She starting to look like you. At first she looked exactly like her daddy,” admitted a second follower.

“Who said this beautiful baby doesn't smile. Smile baby girl,” pointed out another person.

Even though this slideshow attracted mostly positive comments, Gabrielle has faced some backlash in the past for different reasons, including dressing Kaavia in a way people didn’t consider “age-appropriate” and kissing the baby on the mouth.

ADDRESSING “MOMMY SHAMERS”

During an interview the actress had with People, she addressed her situation with those “mommy shamers,” saying that she would parent her way despite being sure she would make “all kinds of mistakes,” which is what most parents do.

“When I ask for help, which I will, I would love to hear all y’all’s advice. Everybody has been on my journey of pain and anguish and trauma, and I owe it to myself to enjoy every second of my joy,” admitted Gabrielle.

The actress also said that if people “cannot sit back and enjoy the miracles” without offering pieces of advice, “it’s okay to unfollow.” The baby was born in November last year via surrogate after Gabrielle went through several miscarriages.

DACING TO BEYONCÉ SONGS

It is not the first time that Kaavia melts the hearts of her mother’s followers. In late-January, the baby appeared on social media wearing a blue ensemble moving her arms and legs as if she was dancing to a Beyoncé song.

Gabrielle, who was recording the clip, was heard asking her beautiful daughter if she liked Beyoncé and even sang a line to Kaavia, who happily giggled at her actress mother. Written in the video, Gabrielle admitted that her daughter loved Beyoncé “naturally.”
