Jackie Evancho Returns to Agt with a Magnificent Performance, Earns a Standing Ovation
Some people may remember Jackie Evancho as the ten-year-old girl who wowed the judges on “America’s Got Talent” back in 2010. Now, nine years later, she has made a triumphant return to the show.
Earlier this month Jackie performed on “America's Got Talent: The Champions” and showed that her voice and performance techniques have only improved with age.
The song she performed was “Music of the Night” from the acclaimed musical “Phantom of the Opera.”
Out of all the judges, Simon Cowell and Mel B were the most impressed by her performance. Simon called it “outstanding,” while Mel B complimented her on both her voice and looks.
However, Jackie does not feel that this was her best performance. After the show, she tweeted that she was disappointed because many of her high notes had been edited out in post-production.
Thank you for the love and support over my @AGT performance tonight. Im very proud but I'm sorry you didn't get to hear my most favorite part & the highest notes of the performance that was edited out! I'm bummed 😢— Jackie Evancho (@jackieevancho) February 5, 2019
This was not her first performance since she first hit television screens in 2010. She sang the national anthem at President Trump’s inauguration in 2017 and had recorded several studio albums.
Jackie has also appeared on the “Today” show many times and was a guest performer on “America’s Got Talent” in 2014.
Jackie is not the only beloved AGT contestant to not make it to the finale. 14-year-old Courtney Hadwin shocked fans when she did not place in the top five last year.
Courtney just missed out on making the finale and ended up placing sixth after her performance of “Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin.
Despite not winning the competition, having made the top ten is sure to help Courtney to advance her singing career.
While Courtney has not reported any unwanted attention, it can be dangerous for minors to compete on AGT, or at least that was the case for Jackie Evancho.
Jackie recently decided to open up about what her life was like just after her first appearance on AGT at ten years old.
She made a video in which she details her experiences, which included stalkers and pedophiles who had seen her on the show.
