In the image, the lady appeared wearing a bright fuchsia gown with a high leg slit that attracted a lot of attention. Apart from that, her makeup and hairstyle gave the actress the final elegant touch her ensemble needed.

For the caption, King wrote, “’Versace Versace medusa head on me’... in my best @quavohuncho voice.” She even shouted out to the people in charge of making her look that beautiful: her makeup artists Maria Asadi, hairstylist Dionne Smith, and stylists Wayman and Micah.

“This color is beautiful on you! This pic is giving me life,” admitted a second follower.

“You are truly a Beautiful person inside and out much Love and Respect to you,” a third person wrote.

GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATION

It has been an amazing year for King so far as she won her first Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in the movie “If Beale Street Could Talk.”

Her speech was as good as her performance in the film:

“The reason why we do this is because we understand that our microphones are big and we’re speaking for everyone … I’m going to use my platform right now to say, in the next two years, everything that I produce — I’m making a vow, and it’s going to be tough — to make sure that everything that I produce is 50 percent women.”

After that, she challenged others in a “position of power” in every industry to join her cause and show solidarity with women, too.

ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATION

Apart from the Golden Globe Award, she is also nominated for the first time to an Academy Award in the same category. Actresses as famous as Amy Adams, Marina de Tavira, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz are also competing.

King’s award-winning role in the Barry Jenkins film is that of a mother of a pregnant young woman whose boyfriend is being accused of a crime she insists he didn’t commit. The story set in Harlem is based on the book by James Baldwin.

The 91st Academy Award ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on February 24.
