Keith Urban makes fans ‘melt with his voice’ during a beautiful rendition of an Elvis classic
The country legend, Keith Urban showed how magically versatile he can be during the Elvis All-Star Tribute show that aired on February 17.
Far from the only odd choice for an Elvis tribute, Keith delivered a stellar rendition of the Elvis hit, “Baby, What You Want Me To Do.”
Joined by the US rapper, Post Malone for a duet of the song, the unlikely singing pair stunned audiences as their voices gelled perfectly.
Post and Keith sat next to each other on stage as they gave an unforgettable performance. Elvis performed the song during his ‘68 Comeback Special. According to the official Elvis Twitter page, Keith’s guitar was owned by the late Reggie Young, who accompanied Elvis during his “From Elvis In Memphis” sessions.
A unique and unforgettable night for Keith, as he played that same guitar while he performed the Elvis hit alongside Post Malone. Some fans gushed over Keith’s talent as one follower commented:
The official Elvis Twitter page only had good things to say about the performance, and suggested it may have been the best of the evening:
Gobsmacked fans took to social media after Keith and Post’s performance. Fans got confused by the pairing but soon got awed by their performance, as one incredulous fan posted:
Others also noted on Post’s performance, which many didn’t expect from this rapper and commented:
Dressed in a tailored yellow Western suit, Post looked eye-catching, to say the least, while Keith donned his jeans and a jacket. No doubt the Indianapolis tailor Jerry Lee Atwood’s creation was hard to miss.
For his solo performance, Keith Urban sang, “Burning Love” for the first time as he told the press before his performance:
“'Burning Love' wasn't on the 68' Comeback Special, but I've always loved this song. Dennis Linde was the writer of it, and I'm a big Dennis Linde fan as well as Elvis, so it was a no-brainer for me. Although I've never done it before so nothing like jumping in the deep end, I'd do it on the Elvis special for the first time."
NBC filmed the special in October last year, and included the likes of Shawn Mendes who performed “Hound Dog” and Jennifer Lopez who gave an unbelievable rendition of “Heartbreak Hotel.”
Other performers for the tribute special included John Legend, Carrie Underwood, Mac Davis, Adam Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, and many others.
Jennifer Lopez’ performance also stood out as fans loved her sultry rendition of "Heartbreak Hotel" while her outfit for the performance sparked almost as much talk.
