Meghan Markle's mom spotted alone in LA as daughter reportedly parties with friends at baby shower
Doria Ragland, the mother of Duchess Meghan Markle, was spotted in Los Angeles running some errands alone while her daughter was throwing a baby shower in New York.
Wearing a black ensemble, Doria was photographed carrying boxes and bags to her vehicle and then driving off. The fact that she wasn’t invited to her daughter’s baby shower in New York surprised many.
As Daily Mail reported, no member of Meghan’s family was present, and all the guests were people who the Duchess has known for less than ten years.
Not even her sister-in-law Kate Middleton or Princess Beatrice, who works in NY as the Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at Afiniti, were invited, though baby showers are not a tradition in the UK.
So far, it is unclear whether or not Meghan and Doria will get together during the Duchess’ time in the US as she and Prince Harry are expected to go to Morocco for a three-day visit over the weekend.
Among the famous people who were present at The Mark hotel for the baby shower, there were tennis player Serena Williams, Misha Nonoo, Jessica Mulroney, Amal Clooney, Gayle King, and more.
Her friends came bearing gifts, as a baby cot was dropped off at her hotel, as well as pink roses, leading to speculations that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a baby girl.
As for the decorations for the party, people photographed dozens of floral arrangements right in front of the hotel, as well as a harp and a cotton candy machine that were believed to be part of the celebration.
The night after the baby shower, Serena, Jessica, and Markus Anderson – who reportedly introduced Meghan and Prince Harry – had a fancy dinner at Ralph Lauren’s restaurant The Polo Bar.
At the moment, Meghan and Harry are focused on fulfilling their Royal engagements while expecting their first child. They shared the big news in October 2018, and she is supposed to give birth in Spring 2019.
