Here's Why Bo Derek and John Corbett Didn't Get Married after over a Decade Together

Bo Derek and John Corbett are in no rush to get married because they don’t have children.

Derek, 62, said she is deeply in love with the 57-year-old actor but that they feel no pressure to tie the knot, as reported by ET Online.

"He's funny. He makes me laugh all the time," said Derek, who plays Tara Reid’s mother in “Sharknado 3: Hell No!”

"We talk about [marriage] sometimes, but we don't have children, and we're not young, so there isn't that pressure or need to get married," she continued.

The actress was widowed in 1998 when her husband, film director John Derek, died of heart disease.

Derek and Corbett, who starred in “Sex and the City”, have been together for 13 years.

The actress also talked about her experience with aging.

“I feel I'm aging like other people," Derek said. "I feel it's not fair. I don't mind the years. I just mind the look. I miss my skin."

Derek became a sex symbol four decades ago when she ran down the beach in the 1979 film, “10”. She lamented that women in Hollywood receive fewer jobs after reaching 50.

"I don't play the parts I used to play, obviously," she said. "I've been a producer. I wouldn't cast me in a lot anymore."

"At the same time, I'm guilty too. I like to look at younger faces on the screen, and most of our stories are told by younger people because they're the ones that would make a difference in a plot or storyline most of the time," she added.

Derek has described her relationship with Corbett as “a gigantic bonus”.

She met Corbett in 2002 through a blind date.

“I was alone for five years. Having a love is a gigantic bonus in life, but I wasn't unhappy when I was single, either,” she said.
