Tina Knowles approved of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s recent move to pay tribute to Meghan Markle while accepting an honor at the Brit Awards. Speaking to Courtney Tezeno of ET, Tina revealed she thought it was “amazing.”

The Carters won an award for Best International Group and while they couldn’t accept the recognition, they sent a video that drew waves of attention. In the clip, the pair reenacted a scene from their “Apesh*t” music video but instead of standing in front of a Mona Lisa painting, they stood against the backdrop of Meghan Markle’s portrait.

The painting which was originally commissioned for Meghan’s cover photo for her sorority’s alumnae magazine featured the Duchess wearing a crown and adorned with jewels. In the clip, Beyonce and Jay-Z paid their respects to the artwork by looking at it together after thanking the award-giving body for their award.

Beyonce explained in her caption later that in featuring Meghan in their acceptance speech, it was a nod to Black History Month.

“In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy,” she wrote.

Tina couldn’t help but be proud of her daughter who earned praises for the clip that went viral.

"She told me about it and showed it to me. When they first did it, she told me about the idea, and I thought it was amazing. Yeah, it was really nice."

Tina herself is all for women empowerment.

"I love all this girl power and all this energy. It's just such camaraderie in here, like everybody's rooting for everybody, and it's just positive energy, no negativity," she recently said, attending the Essence event her daughter Kelly Rowland hosted.

She’s also proud of the fact that her two children, both women, turned out to be successful yet grounded individuals.

"It's the most rewarding [thing seeing them grow up], and all that they've achieved. The best thing about them is how good and grounded they are."

Tiny is lucky to have raised to wonderful girls who, no doubt, inherited their unique qualities from their mother.
