Tom Hanks, 65, and his wife Rita Wilson, 64, are parents to four children – Chester "Chet," Colin, Elizabeth Ann, and Truman. One of the couple's grandchildren is biracial, and their father, Chet, previously opened up about that.

Chet once revealed that his famous parents were actually great grandparents to his biracial daughter. Tom and Wilson love taking care of their grandchildren.

THE COOLEST GRANDPARENTS

The actors described themselves as "the coolest grandparents," but they knew that their grandchildren jokingly didn't think the same. The pair said they found their grandchildren amusing.

However, Tom joked that he thought their little grandchildren just tolerated them. His wife added that the little ones sometimes looked at them like they didn't know who they were!

MEET THE GRANDCHILDREN

Colin, Tom's eldest son, gave him and Wilson their first grandchildren - Olivia and Charlotte. Chet, on the other hand, Meanwhile, Chet has a biracial daughter, Michaiah, from his relationship with ex-girlfriend Tiffany Miles.

On several occasions, Chet has confessed how his daughter saved his life. When the "Empire" actor found out he would be a father, he was able to stop his cocaine addiction and focus on being a better man for his child.

In a previous interview, the actor confessed that he'd also gotten the support of his parents while going through rehabilitation. Tom and Wilson also reaffirmed to Chet that he'd gotten lucky with his daughter's birth.

The star admitted that he wasn't sure if he would've made the necessary changes in his life if Michaiah hadn't been born. He also expressed how he wanted his daughter to know how she'd saved his life when she got older.

THE PROUD GRANDPARENTS

Besides enjoying the journey of being a parent, Chet also took pleasure in seeing his parents revel in the joys of grandparenthood. He said the pair had been supportive and there every step of the way.

What made it all easy was that Wilson and Tom loved being grandparents! The actors often volunteered to babysit for their children whenever they had some free time on their hands.

KEEPING THEIR PRIVACY

Even though Tom and Wilson love spending time with their grandchildren, they avoid posting their images on social media for safety reasons. They also do that because Colin and Chet avoid sharing their children's faces on the web.

Tom and his wife generally prefer remaining private unless necessary. For instance, last year, they both shared their COVID-19 diagnosis and the journeys they took to getting healthy again after contracting it in Australia.

NO ALLOWANCE FOR CHET

Wilson and Tom might be wealthy and prominent celebrities, but in a Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan interview in September 2021, Chet, 31, revealed that his parents never gave him an allowance.

The rapper explained how he never lived a privileged life, as most people assumed. His parents kept him on a short leash and came down on him hard when they caught him smoking marijuana.

CHET'S LEAKED MESSAGES

Maybe Chet's parents were right in keeping a close eye on him as he's gotten himself in all sorts of trouble over the years. In May 2021, a fan named "Lily" shared an alleged Instagram conversation with Chet.

In the direct messages, Lily declared her love for the rapper before he reportedly asked her if she had $200 for him when she offered $22. Chet allegedly told her the money was for him to pay his bills.

CONTROVERSY WITH CHET'S SONG

Previously in March 2021, the rapper left fans wondering how his parents were Wilson and Tom, but he turned out the way he did. Chet released a video announcing his song "White Boy Summer" would be out later in the year.

The track was a play on Megan Thee Stallion's 2019 hit song "Hot Girl Summer." Tom's son said the song was about himself and other white boys like Jon B and fellow rapper Jack Harlow.

THE BLACK SHEEP OF THE FAMILY

No one could blame the critics as the Los Angeles native has earned himself the title of the black sheep of his famous family. Compared to his father, Chet sports tattoos and also works as a rapper.

The incident allegedly occurred in January 2020 in Texas’ Sugar Land, where the couple [Chet Hanks and Kiana Parker] shared a home.

He's been accused of cultural appropriation and violence in the past. Wilson's son initially burst onto the rap scene in 2011 as "Chet Haze" and later released the dud of a song "White and Purple."
