Meghan McCain on ‘Paranoid Hollywood People’ following Controversial Video of Tom Hanks’ Son Chet Hanks
Tom Hanks' son came under fire after making a controversial video claiming he wouldn't be getting the coronavirus vaccine, even after his parents battled the virus.
Chet Hanks started the video on a positive vibe asking his fans to get the COVID vaccine and urging his countrymen to rally together to stop the virus from spreading, more so now that the Delta variant is rising.
He stated that he'd decided to get the jab himself, following the increasing number of people contracting the virus. Just as his listeners were getting convinced, he turned around and started an anti-vaxxers rant.

He claimed he wouldn't be letting anyone stick a needle in him and went on to wonder why those that have contacted the virus wouldn't just stay inside. He expressed his distaste for having to always be in a mask.
The video raised many controversies, seeing as his parents Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, were some of the first Hollywood stars to contract the virus back in March of 2020.
The couple had been admitted to the hospital for professional care, and after their release, they were quarantined for 11 days, then headed home, where they stayed in lockdown.
People reacted to the video, asking Chet to consider those going through hell due to the virus, while others posted photos of sick people to encourage him to speak for the vaccine.
Meghan McCain, known for her controversial tweets, reacted to Chet's video claiming that anti-vaxxers should be quiet about their agenda. She tweeted:
"Anecdotally I've heard of many anti-vaxxers to be wealthy, entitled, paranoid Hollywood people who already weren't giving their kids vaccines - they just normally keep it quiet unlike Tom Hanks son."
McCain, a former "The View" host, has been known for her controversial tweets and constant fiery battles with her co-hosts. She seemed always to pick clashes with the rest of the women at the table, and now, after four years on the show, she quit.
Just days after her exit from the show, McCain is already back in people's bad books after reacting to the Chet Hanks video and referring to celebrities "Paranoid Hollywood People."
The controversial video has pushed people to make a comparison between father and son, noting that Chet is a far cry from his dad, who's known to be a nice guy.
Chet is the proverbial fruit that fell far from the tree, and has been known for not being able to keep a job, despite his father building himself an enviable career in Hollywood.
Tom spoke about him and his wife's struggle with the virus, saying that the virus had taken a much harder blow on his wife, and she had a higher fever, had suffered severe nausea, and had even lost her sense of smell and taste.
He says his symptoms mostly consisted of body fatigue and severe body aches. He also could not concentrate on anything he wanted to for 12 straight minutes, which he jokes is his natural state.
Even though the ordeal quite shook Wilson, Tom says he was only concerned because he has diabetes and a stent in his heart, and so it seemed like he was a red flag case, but continues to say:
"But as long as our temperatures did not spike, and our lungs did not fill up with something that looked like pneumonia, they were not worried."
With all the struggles his parents went through after contracting the virus, it comes as a surprise that Chet would be such an enthusiastic supporter of the anti-vaxxing campaigns.

He has three siblings. Colin and Elizabeth were born from Tom's first marriage to Samantha Lewes. Colins has taken after his old man and starred in shows such as "Life in Pieces" and "Roswell."
Elizabeth has worked as a news editor for the Huffington Post and is working on her children's novel. Chet and his brother Truman are from Tom's marriage to his current wife, Rita Wilson.
Truman works behind the scenes and has been involved in camera works for shows such as "Black Widow" and the yet-to-be-released " West Side Story."
