Omar Epps' Wife Shares Video of Son Giving Touching Speech at His School during Black History Month
Keisha Epps, the wife of actor Omar Epps, took to Instagram to share a clip of the touching speech their son Amir gave at school for Black History Month.
The 11-year-old boy appeared on the school stage wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a black bowtie impersonating actor and bass-baritone concert artist Paul Robeson.
During his speech, Amir shared some details about the life and career of Paul, including that his father was a slave and that he was the first African American to play “Othello” with a White supporting cast on Broadway.
PRAISING THE BOY
At the end of the speech, the boy set clear that he was reprising Paul, and everybody cheered and clapped. For the caption, Keisha admitted to being proud of the school and her friend, Heather Wilson, for coming out with that idea.
“Son, you did a wonderful job with your speaking part yesterday. Articulation & confidence was at [100]. Always proud of you, Prince,” added Keisha, followed by the hashtags “Leaders,” “Speakers,” and “Black History Month.”
As soon as she uploaded that clip, her followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.
“Wow!!! Intelligent young man!” wrote one user.
“Wow, isn’t he just an eloquent speaker. And he looks good too. Mama and Daddy should be proud!!!” pointed out a second follower.
“Wow. Such an intelligent young man and well spoken!! Keep it up young king,” admitted another viewer.
POSING WITH HIS CHILDREN
It is not the first time that Amir is portrayed in his parents’ social media accounts. In January, Keisha took to Instagram to share a photo of Omar, known for his role in “House,” with his three children.
In the image, the actor appeared sitting on a chair looking at the camera with a serious expression while Amir, K’mari, and Aiyanna were flashing their smiles at the camera. For the caption, the proud matriarch wrote, “my everythings.”
Amir and K’mari are Omar and Keisha’s only children, while Aiyanna is Omar’s daughter from a previous relationship. The couple met each other about 27 years ago, but they reconnected 15 years after that and learned that they were meant to be together.
In 2005, they tied the knot and sealed what would be a lifetime of bliss. At the moment, they have been married for 14 years and have been in a relationship for almost two decades.
