Lisa Niemi Swayze Expresses Her Support to Alex Trebek Amid Cancer Battle

TV presenter, Alex Trebek, earlier this month shared some information about his battle with cancer in an emotional video. Actress, Lisa Niemi Swayze took to Twitter to share her heartfelt sympathy.

Cancer is a horrible disease, and Lisa Swayze knows this firsthand; she lost her husband of 34 years, Patrick Swayze to cancer in 2009.Knowing how difficult the battle with cancer can be, Lisa was one of the first to reach out to the "Jeopardy" host with the tweet,

"Dr. Ned - Beautifully put about @Jeopardy Alex Trebek. Sending my best wishes and heartfelt prayers for this wonderful man and his family! #WageHope."

In the video shared by Dr. Ned Sharpless on Twitter, Trebek told the world he had been diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. With fearlessness, the game show host told everyone not to worry because he is going to fight and win the battle.

Although the news shared in the clip was sad, Many are hopeful due to Trebek's determination that all will be well at the end. Many people used the medium to pour out their well wishes for the host who made it clear he is not leaving the show even though he is sick.

Fans of the actress also lovingly commented on her page. One user said,

"Lisa, I know this diagnosis is never far from your heart. I had the pleasure to meet you in Sarasota a few years ago, thank you for sharing your, and other, stories."

Although Lisa is now remarried to jeweler, Albert Deprisco, her late husband, Patrick Swayze will always live on in her heart.Actor, Patrick Swayze was born in Houston Texas, and he died of Pancreatic cancer in 2009 at the age of 57.

Patrick was one of the finest and sexiest men in Hollywood during his time. He could also be remembered for his role in Dirty Dancing. It was such a shame Swayze was lost to cancer, but he did share his journey with the world before his death; his wife, Lisa always right beside him.

According to Lisa, she learnt from her husband's journey that:

"There's a lot of wisdom in the idea of living one day at a time. And when you might not have someone for long, that's what starts to happen."

Although cancer is a terrible disease and Parick lost his battle, hopefully, Alex Trebek will fight this monster that's invaded his health and win.
