On Instagram, the comedian paid tribute to his good friend, who was tragically shot right outside his own clothing store in Los Angeles. Prior to his death, Nipsey was working on a documentary on the late Dr. Sebi, a Honduras-based healer, and herbalist who claimed to have found the cure for AIDS and other non-curable diseases.

PASSING ON THE BATON

Nick then assured Nipsey through a shoutout on Instagram that where he left off, they were going to carry on.

"Now, your message is my message! Your work is my work!"

In separate Instagram posts, Cannon shared more content about Dr. Sebi, who passed away in 2016. He claims that there is a need to "take responsibility for our own," and that he was about to carry on with what Nipsey had started.

"Where you left off, we gonna carry on! It's a MARATHON, so I'm picking up the baton! Because they can't kill us all! Spiritual Warfare is REAL and in full effect. And now your spirit is protecting your community eternally! Your words, your steps, your walk always was and always will be SOLID! Now, your message is my message! Your work is my work!"

NIPSEY HUSSLE'S TRAGIC PASSING

Nipsey Hussle was shot right outside his clothing store, "The Marathon Store," which he opened back in 2017. The rapper, who lives in the Crenshaw area of LA, is said to have ties with the Crips, but that didn't stop him from working with artists from rival gang affiliations. Some artists include YG and The Game, who are both tied to the Bloods.

While the Grammy-nominated artist was rushed to the hospital shortly after the attack, he was pronounced dead on arrival. He was 33-years-old.

The rapper was shot at close range by a young black man that is suspected to be in his 20's.

Police are now investigating the attack on the rapper and are gathering all evidence they can find.
