Don Lemon Explains Why He's Certain He's Found the Right Man but Is in No Rush to Set Wedding Date

CNN anchor Don Lemon opens up about how his relationship with finacé Tim Malone, and reveals that he's in no hurry to tie the knot.

Journalist Don Lemon revealed in a post on Instagram that his boyfriend Tim Malone had proposed, and been accepted.

Fans and friends of the happy couple have been pressuring Lemon to announce a wedding date, but the anchorman seems to be in no hurry.

“It’s weird to say ‘fiancé,’ but my fiancé is a really great guy. He’s really sweet.”

A ROMANTIC PROPOSAL SWEPT DON LEMON OFF HIS FEET

Malone proposed to Lemon on his birthday by falling on one knee in time-honored tradition and presenting him with a ring.

He had given their two poodles, Barkley and Boomer, silver bowtie-shaped tags inscribed "Daddy, will you marry papa?"

GETTING USED TO HAVING A "FIANCÉ"

Lemon confessed that he is struggling with the idea that he has a fiancé, but admits that he was blown away by Malone's proposal:

“His entire body was shaking, and he said, ‘I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.’ And I said, ‘Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh, are you serious? This is real!’ And I saw the box and I said, ‘All right.’”

DON LEMON'S FEELINGS ABOUT MARRIAGE

For Lemon, being gay had always meant that his relationships would always be transient, and he had given up on the dream of having children:

“I grew up thinking that … my relationships would never be public, let alone get married, and now I can get legally married. My relationship is public and I have started thinking about children."

DON LEMON WANTS TO BE A FATHER

Now that he is engaged to be married to Malone, Lemon admits that he has been thinking about having a family.

For now, the couple is enjoying the glow of their engagement and making plans for their future together.

The Anchorman and his fiancé have not revealed any details of their forthcoming wedding, but reveal that although there is no "hurry" to tie the knot, it will be fairly soon.

In 2016, their relationship evolved from a close friendship to a love affair, and after 3 years together, Malone popped the question, and Lemon said "yes!"
