Kim Kardashian's Reason for Using Surrogacy to Become a Mom for the Fourth Time

Reality star Kim Kardashian opted for surrogacy for her third child upon her doctors’ advice and considered doing it again for a fourth child.

In an interview with Elle, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star revealed that she would have endangered herself with a third pregnancy, after suffering from placenta accreta during both of her previous pregnancies.

“My time is spread really thin. And I think it's important that in all couples, the mom give the husband as much attentions as the kids."

According to Mayo Clinic, placenta accreta is a serious pregnancy condition that occurs when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall.

The placenta typically detaches from the uterine wall after childbirth, but with placenta accreta, part or all of the placenta remains attached.

SHE RECOMMENDS SURROGACY

Although she had to use surrogacy for medical reasons, Kim said she would have preferred to get pregnant with her third child, daughter Chicago West, if it was possible.

“I hated being pregnant. But as much as I hated it, I still wished I could have done it on my own," Kim said.

She added, “The control is hard at the beginning. Once you let that go, it’s the best experience. I would recommend surrogacy for anybody.”

Kim and her husband, Kanye West, welcomed their third baby on January 15, 2019. She announced the birth of Chicago West on her blog. The socialite wrote:

“Kanye and I are happy to announce the arrival of our healthy, beautiful baby girl. We are incredibly grateful to our surrogate who made our dreams come true with the greatest gift one could give and to our wonderful doctors and nurses for their special care. North and Saint are especially thrilled to welcome their baby sister.”

GOING THE SURROGACY ROUTE AGAIN

Kim also revealed that four children would be her maximum, which means she might have another child via surrogacy.

“My time is spread really thin. And I think it's important that in all couples, the mom give the husband as much attentions as the kids,” she said.

The Kardashian family has been growing in the last few years.

Kim recently pleased fans after she posted the first-ever photo of Chicago West, True Thompson, and Stormi Webster together. True and Stormi are Khloe and Kylie’s children, respectively.
