Canadian Actress Stefanie Sherk Dies at 37

Canadian actress Stefanie Sherk, known for her roles in "The Bridge" and "Hashtag: The Series," passed away peacefully at the age of 37.

Her husband of eight years, actor Demián Bichir, shared the news on Instagram earlier today. He said, "it has been the saddest and toughest time of our lives." Bichir added:

"We don't know how much time it will take for us to overcome this pain. Stefanie's beautiful, angelical and talented presence will be immensely missed."

Bichir thanked their fans for their prayers and support, and ask that the public give both his and Sherk's family time to grieve in privacy.

Her husband didn't confirm the cause of death. The couple tied the knot back in 2011, one year after meeting through mutual friends.

Sherk began her career in 2001 when she landed a minor role in the series "Gutter Ball Alley." She went on to star in "Easy," "The Sister," "The Bridge," and "CSI: Cyber."

Both Bichir and Sherk landed roles in the upcoming 2020 film, "The Grudge." The film is currently in post-production.

In addition to her acting career, Sherk also wrote, produced and directed two shorts, titled "Big Date," and "The Sister."
