Porsha Williams on Baby Pilar's Difficult Birth and New Mom Struggles
New mom Porsha Williams opens up about the challenges of having a baby, including her birth, and tackling breastfeeding.
Reality star Porsha Williams, 37, is ecstatic after welcoming her first child, Pilar Jhena on March 22, 2019.
The first time has revealed some of the daunting challenges she'd had to face, including the harrowing C-section she went through to have her baby girl.
WELCOMING PILAR JHENA
Little Pilar Jhena was born a week before her due date through a caesarian section, something Porsha reveals, many dismiss as "easy."
“A lot of people think that C-sections are easy — an easier way to give birth. But I assure you, it is full, serious surgery. It was difficult! Even recovery — healing from the cut and taking care of a newborn while being on pain medication and dealing with your body’s shock of having just had a baby," she shared.
BREASTFEEDING PILAR JHENA
But a second shock was in store for Porsha. She had nonchalantly assumed she'd be able to breastfeed Pilar - and if not, there was nothing wrong with formula.
‘Okay, if I can breastfeed, that’s fine. If not, I’ll put her on formula.’ It was that simple. But once she got here and you’re looking at your daughter, you want to give her the world. You want her to have everything that’s the best for her. So it was really difficult for me to come to the realization that I couldn’t pump enough milk for her,” revealed Porsha.
COPING WITH THE FAMILY CONFLICT
But there was more in store for the new mom. As fand of RHOA will be able to ascertain on the new three-episode spinoff series, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Porsha’s Having a Baby."
Porsha also had to deal with the growing tension and rivalry between her mom and her fiancée Denis McKinley's mother.

PILAR JHENA'S FIRST MONTH
But Porsha admits that as challenging as it may have bee, Pilar's first month has been bliss for the reality star and her fiancée.
Porsha reveals that Pilar is a proper little diva, who wants what she wants when she wants it, and if thwarted makes her displeasure known - loudly.
“She’s a diva. Literally, on her one-month celebration is when I saw the most of her personality. When she wants her bottle, she wants it right then. And when she’s done, she’s done. She’s on her own time schedule. She runs our house, literally! We are all on PJ’s beckoning call,” Porsha said.
We look forward to learning more about the tiny Diva as she grows and starts wrapping her hapless parents around her dainty finger.
PILAR JHENA'S EXOTIC NAME
Porsha Williams delighted fans by revealing the origin of her baby daughter's exotic name, and how to pronounce it,
Porsha who always referred to the baby as P.J. has now revealed what the acronym stands for, Pilar Jhena.
Porsha explained to fans that Pilar Jhena's first name is of Spanish origin, and is a reference to the Virgin Mary as a pillar of the Church's faith:
