Kelly Clarkson Donned Extravagant Pink Dress for BMA Performance
Kelly Clarkson stunned fans with an emotional performance at the Billboard Music Awards and a stunning bright pink dress to remember.
Kelly Clarkson opened the May 1, 2019, Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night in style. The two-time host started her show in a sparkly black dress.
She made her entrance through the audience and took a seat next to Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews to commiserate about Taylor Swift’s eye-popping opening “Me!” performance. She then ran down the list of the other amazing sets that were lined up.
She paused as the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas let out screams of anticipation for the live debut of BTS and Halsey’s “Boy With Luv.” She was cut off by former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski before making her get out of the seat she was in.
“My name’s Kelly Clarkson,” she said as Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard pretended not to recognize her. “Oh, you got jokes, you got jokes? Okay. I’ll prove it,” said Clarkson.
She summoned her guitarist and began singing “Meant to Be” as her backup singers appeared out of nowhere. The spontaneous medley continued.
Clarkson teamed up with Ella Mai and sang out the chorus of “Boo’d Up.” She then hit the stage surrounded by a pair of dancers who dipped and did the splits as she crooned out Maroon 5’s “Girls Like you.”
She went on to perform her new single “Broken and Beautiful” from the "Ugly Dolls" Movie. For the emotional performance, she donned a stunning bright pink dress.
The striking dress boasted a figure-hugging shape and huge balloon sleeves. The dress was very similar to the one she donned for the premiere of the "Ugly Dolls" movie.
She wore her hair in a high ponytail during the performance. Her accessories were also kept to a minimum allowing the dress to shine.
Clarkson's performance was not the only noteworthy moment to arise from the award show. The Jonas Brother's put on a stunning performance as well.
However, their show was quickly eclipsed when the news broke that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner tied the knot in Vegas after the awards.
