Jennifer Lopez Is Covered in Silver Sparkles from Head-to-Toe at the Met Gala
Jennifer Lopez was a sparkling wonder from head to toe when she showed up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday night.
The "Jenny From the Block" singer looked like a piece of royal jewelry as she attended the Met Gala with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez on Monday, May 6.
A social media regular, Lopez shared her own shot of her and her boo's outfit on Instagram as they made their way to the star-studded annual event. The post is found below.
"Met Ball 2019 here we come..." Lopez, 49, captioned the picture. Everything stood out on her as she sat next to Rodriguez. Lopez is herself on this year's Met Gala committee which carried the theme "Camp: Notes on Fashion" this year.
The "On the Floor" singer's entire piece was a dazzling silver look. From the headpiece, which had bangs at her forehead and appeared to be connected to the rest, to the short train that dragged behind her, the ensemble glittered.
At the front, the clothing opened in a halter top design, but the v-neck cut came down all the way to Lopez's mid-riff. With her shape accentuated around the center, the dress covered one toned leg while the other was exposed thanks to a slit that reached her upper thigh.
Lopez wore a dramatic sapphire and diamond encrusted necklace and glamorized her wrists with large glittering bangles. She adorned at least three dazzling rings on her hands and held onto a matching clutch.
According to E Online, the dress is from Versace while the necklace is from Harry Winston and holds 129.48 carats. Lopez completed the look with stunning pink and lilac makeup.
Rodriguez complimented his lady with a light pink suit completed with a white undershirt and a silky black bow tie. He wore classic black pants to complete his look.
For accessorization, the former professional baseball player reportedly borrowed an 18-carat white watch from Harry Winston. This is the third time he's accompanied Lopez to the event.
For Lopez, this year's event was particularly memorable because of the death of the Versace tailor, Luigi Massi. Massi passed away in early April before finishing Lopez's dress.
In response, the singer spoke in a YouTube video about the years they had worked together. She thanked the Italian for making her "feel so beautiful so many times," just as she did again on Monday.
The Met Gala of 2017 was the first time Lopez and Rodriguez appeared together at a public event. Last year, they again attended the Gala which was themed "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination."
Rodriguez went with black everything: a black single-breasted lapel suit, a matching undershirt, black shoes, and a bow tie. Each year they step out, the two are a timeless perfectly synced couple.
Kim Kardashian was also one to watch on the red carpet on Monday night. The 38-year-old reportedly reversed Thierry Mugler's retirement in order to hire him to design the latex dress she wore.
The light brown piece was almost perfectly matched with Kardashian's own skin color, especially her busty chest. It was designed with a peculiar pattern and featured what looked like drops of water dripping from the reality star's signature curvy figure.
Her black wet hair look complimented the effect of the dress. As usual, her makeup was on point, with eyeshadow that had a hint of dazzle for the grand affair. Kanye West, donned in a simple black suit, was her arm candy for the night.
