Kurtis Blow Has Emergency Surgery Days after Heart Procedure
Kurtis Blow has been hospitalized again and submitted to an emergency procedure just days after he underwent heart surgery.
Fans and friends of hip hop pioneer Kurtis Blow were shocked to hear that the singer has undergone heart surgery once again.
Blow was still in the hospital recovering from an aortic artery repair which had taken place on May 2 when he was subjected to an emergency open heart surgery on May 7, 2019.
SHOCKING ANNOUNCEMENT BY RUSSEL SIMMONS
Blow's close friend, comedian Russell Simmons revealed to the musician's followers that he was under the knife once again and in desperate need of prayers.
"Please put @kurtisblow back into your prayers. He has been called to emergency open heart surgery,” he wrote.

The obviously anxious Simmons shared his fears with Blow's fans, and extended his prayers to the musician's family:
“Kurtis Blow is a survivor, but this is not good. I say this to all who loved his music, his heart is bigger than his music."
Blow, who had suffered a heart attack in 2016 had already undergone an aortic heart surgical procedure

A few hours later, Simmons allayed some of the fans' natural fears by sharing an update on the emergency surgery.
“Kurtis’s heart is beating on its own. They are closing. should be finished closing in less than 2 hours,” he wrote.

Blow had been submitted to an aortic artery repair after suffering a hematoma during his recent visit to China.
The hip hop veteran, 59, had posted a message to his fans announcing the successful surgery and his imminent recovery:
“I am on my way to recovery 100%. Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes,” he wrote.
Blow is being accompanied by his wife of 35 years Shirley at the at UCLA Medical Center, and his three children.

Kurtis Blow's wife Shirley Stewart has revealed her husband is back in the Intensive Care Unit at UCLA Medical Center because the aortic artery surgeons had repaired has dissected.
Blow, who had suffered a heart attack in 2016 had already undergone an aortic heart surgical procedure to help stabilize his artery.
The artery had been damaged during a trip to China, and it had seemed that Blow was making a full recovery before his emergency surgery.
