Dolly Parton Only Wears Long Sleeves and Here's the Reason Why

Tattoos are a way of expressing oneself and making a statement. At least that’s what the popular belief is, but renowned country singer Dolly Parton says otherwise.

Throughout her career, Dolly has had millions of records sold while she rode into the hearts of her fans on the wheels of melody. When fans looked back to her 50+ year career on her Instagram, they noticed that Dolly always covers her arms in one way or another.

THE SECRET BEHIND HER COVERED ARMS

Surprisingly so, Dolly is almost never seen flashing her arms in performances, award ceremonies, or any other social gathering. This was more than enough to cause a tsunami of speculations and theories to pop up everywhere.

Although most of the speculations revolve around Dolly having tattoos on her arms (Most probably a full sleeve) some people seem to be convinced that she has Snake tattoos on her arms whereas others believe that there are tattoos of many different designs and elements.

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Dolly addressed her wardrobe choices and also took a swing at the rumors flying around.

“I don’t really like to make a big to-do of [the tattoos] because people make such a big damn deal over every little thing."

She went on to express that she does have tattoos but they were just a way of hiding some of the scars on her body when she first started out.

She added: “I have a tendency to have keloid scar tissue, and I have a tendency where if I have any kind of scars anywhere then they kind of have a purple tinge that I can never get rid of. So mine are all pastels, what few that I have, and they’re meant to cover some scars.”

The style icon since her massive hits ‘I will always love you’, ‘9 to 5’, and many more, she has always rocked her full sleeve tops and from the looks of it, is not making a wardrobe change anytime soon.

When Dolly appeared on stage to perform a duet with her goddaughter Miley Cyrus, her sleeves seemed to be transparent and showed off some skin.

However, her attire sparked another theory. The Los Angeles Times believed that she was wearing a nude under-layer beneath the clothes, creating an illusion of clarity for her audience.

The singer also went on to mention that some of her tattoos were in ‘intimate’ parts of her body and they were meant for her and her husband’s eyes only. Now that requires an insane amount of bravery to go through!

As far as we know, the theories will get more intense and as the singer refuses to reveal her arms, all we can say for sure is that she likes to keep her fans on edge. It forever keeps her in the minds of her audience.

In the 50+ years of her career, there are many things that we have discovered about Dolly, but this may be one thing that we might never know.
