Nipsey Hussle's Baby Mama Allegedly Cries in Court During Daughter's Custody Hearing

Nipsey Hussle’s first baby mama, Tanisha, reportedly broke down in tears during a custody battle with the rapper’s family for their ten-year-old daughter, Emani.

Less than two months after his death, Nipsey’s loved ones are already battling over his oldest daughter, and things got emotional on Tuesday, May 14, at the L.A. County Superior Court, reports TMZ.

Nipsey’s sister, Samantha Smith, who is asking to be appointed as Emani’s guardian, and his brother Blacc Sam, who is in agreement, were at the custody hearing, as was Tanisha.

According to the celebrity news website, Tanisha broke down in tears upon seeing her daughter, Emani, whom she said she hadn’t seen in months. The courtroom was then cleared for 20 minutes to give mother and child some time together alone.

The Blast reported that Tanisha’s family spoke with Nipsey’s brother in the hall after the hearing, but another court appearance has been fixed for Friday when a final decision on custody and finances will be announced.

The outlet also revealed that Tanisha planned to bring up the fact that she had joint custody of Emani and file for child support, asking that the payments come from the late rapper’s estate.

Meanwhile, as TMZ noted, Blacc Sam is currently battling in court to take possession of his brother’s estate, which includes $2 million in assets.

Nipsey’s sister, Samantha, applied for guardianship of Emani last month, indicating that she didn’t want Tanisha to be aware of her move.

It was the judge attached to the case that, however, chose to have Tanisha involved and set a hearing to listen to everyone’s side. Since Emani is still a minor, the L.A. Department of Children and Family Services is also involved in the case.

Following Nipsey’s tragic murder on March 31, Samantha took to social media to pay tribute to her brother and assure him that she’d take care of his children, Emani and two-year-old son Kross whom the rapper shared with girlfriend, Lauren London.

Nipsey and Tanisha (who took on the name “Asghedom” and “Hussle”) reportedly dated for over a decade but she was noticeably absent at the rapper’s April 11 memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
