‘Menace II Society' Star Larenz Tate Has Been Married for 10+ Years & Has 4 Kids

Actor Larenz Tate, better known for his roles in films like “Menace II Society” and “Love Jones,” has been happily married for more than a decade and is the proud dad of four kids. The secret to a long-lasting relationship, he said, is compatibility.

Larenz Tate made his debut as an actor in an episode of “The Twilight Zone” when he was 10-year-old. Since then, he has managed to keep a steady career in Hollywood, taking roles in different series and films through the years without neglecting his personal life.

The 43-year-old, who is currently giving life to Councilman Tate in Starz’ series “Power,” is very private when it comes to his personal life, keeping his wife and children out of the spotlight as much as he can.

Tate married Tomasina Tate in November 2006. They share four sons, Zander, Zion, Miles and a baby boy that was born sometime in between September 2018 and the first months of this year. However, the couple is yet to announce his name or even share a pic of the tot.

Tomasina, who is the owner of a famous California-based bake shop, took to Instagram last August to share pics of her basketball-themed baby shower, showing off her growing baby bump and revealing that the fourth Tate recruit was a boy.

Talking to Essence in 2017 about the secret to a long-lasting and happy marriage, Larenz explained that there are two essential pillars: compatibility and friendship.

“When you can have friendship and compatibility and true love, that is, for us, the ingredient of a successful relationship,” he said.

And continued:

“And the thing about it is, we don't go by other people's standards. What works in our relationship and our household may not work for the next people. But it's what we create and what we do. We don't get involved with anybody else's business, and we just do our thing.”

When the interviewer mentioned that it was hard to find information about Tate and his family online, he admitted that he prefers to keep their privacy for the sake of the kids.

“The one thing about our relationship in our family we have three children, we have three boys and our children is our truly our pride and joy. And that's the only thing that we can have like I'm out there, but when it comes to our children and what we have, you know I think it's okay to have some level of privacy,” he stated.

Larenz and Tomasina keep going strong after more than a decade of love, and now that they have welcomed their fourth child, their bond has surely strengthened a bit more.
