Keyshia Cole’s Ex Reignites Divorce Battle After Her Baby Bump Reveal

Pregnant Keyshia Cole's ex-husband, Daniel Gibson has reportedly filed new documents that would help jumpstart their divorce after more than a year of inactivity.

Keyshia Cole’s divorce with her ex-husband, Daniel Gibson is back on.

The estranged couple’s divorce proceeding which was at a standstill for quite some time is reportedly in motion after Gibson made a move to get it going.

WHY THEIR DIVORCE CAME TO A HALT

Cole first filed for divorce from Gibson in September 2017 after three years of separation. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason though she publicly claimed he cheated on her. In her documents, she requested for joint and legal custody of their 9-year-old son, Daniel Gibson, Jr. who recently underwent surgery.

However, Gibson challenged Cole’s demands by filing for full custody of their son as well as spousal support. This led to a pause in their case with both refusing to give in to the other’s demands.

Cole slammed Gibson for delaying their divorce and maintained the ball was on his court. She refused to give in to his previous demands.

IN DANGER OF DISMISSAL

In January, a court warning was sent to the ex-couple due to their case’s inactivity. Neither has submitted any paperwork since October 2017. If they remain inactive, their case would be shelved.

In response, Cole slammed Gibson for delaying their divorce and maintained the ball was on his court. She refused to give in to his previous demands.

It would be to the benefit of Cole if her divorce was finalized soon. The singer is currently pregnant with her second child she shares with her younger boyfriend, singer Niko Hale.

WHEELS BACK IN MOTION

Now it seems Gibson has finally heeded Cole’s call with new documents filed by the former NBA player recently. According to the Blast, he submitted his financial records to Cole’s lawyer which is integral to the settlement of their divorce.

It’s unclear if Gibson finally gave in to Cole’s terms but the fact that he made a move may be considered a positive turn in their case.

BABY ON THE WAY

Meanwhile, it would be to the benefit of Cole if her divorce was finalized soon. The singer is currently pregnant with her second child she shares with her younger boyfriend, singer Niko Hale. They’ve been dating for two years now.

Cole proudly debuted her baby bump earlier this month but didn’t reveal when she’s due. However, she did suggest more recently that she was “about to pop.” Her son expressed his excitement and even let it slip they were welcoming a boy.
