Keyshia Cole's Son Is Back at the Doctor's after He Recently Underwent Surgery

Keyshia Cole’s son, Daniel “DJ” Gibson Jr. is not the happiest kid around as he reveals the singer had to take him back to the hospital mere days after undergoing surgery to help him breathe better. DJ’s update also comes around the same time Cole shared one about the baby she’s expecting.

DJ took to Instagram last week to inform fans that he was about to go into surgery, but it appears some of the side-effects are proving to be too much for the nine-year-old.

In a post shared to the social media platform yesterday, DJ shared a side-view image of himself looking sad and wrote:

“Mom decided to bring me back to the doctor... throat soreness has made it very difficult, trying to be motivated to drink or eat anything. It’s a scary feeling, knowing, with EVERY SWALLOW, it’s gonna hurt.”

SOCIAL MEDIA TO THE RESCUE

Concerned Instagram users showed up in the comment section with some encouragement for the little man.

“My son, EJ, said to try to eat some jello and popsicles. He said to hang in there DJ!” adviced one user whose son had apparently undergone the same procedure as Cole’s son.

“I went [through] the same thing as a kid,” another shared. “It gets better I promise.”

THE SURGERY

It was only about four days ago that DJ finally got to go home and to be back in the hospital must make the young man very sad.

On May 3, when he shared a video of himself in a hospital gown and cap, DJ had appeared more hopeful about going through the surgical procedure.

“Mommy is here with me, and I’m READY FOR THIS SURGERY. Thank you guys for all of your well wishes and blessings,” he revealed at the time. “I really look forward to breathing and sleeping better, and just overall playing and interacting like a regular kid!”

Meanwhile, DJ’s sad update comes on the heels of one shared by Cole, 37, on her Instagram stories. The “Heaven Sent” singer displayed her baby bump in all of its glory and declared that she was “about to pop.”

Cole first announced last week that she was expecting her second child with a photo of her baby bump while coyly avoiding a direct reference to the pregnancy.

EXCITEMENT FOR THE NEW BABY

The singer shares her first son, DJ, with her soon-to-be ex-husband Daniel Gibson Sr. but is expecting the newborn with her current boyfriend, 23-year-old music artist Niko Khale.

Khale has been over the moon about the impending arrival of their little one, and so has DJ, who in his excitement, let slip that his sibling will be a boy.
