Luke Perry's Son Jack Shared Most Important Thing Dad Taught Him
“Riverdale” and “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away on March 4, five days after suffering a massive stroke. The star left behind children including his son, Jack Perry.
During an interview on Sunday, Jack Perry, 21, opened up about losing his father. At the time, the young man was at the American Icon Awards in Los Angeles.
He shared how he and his sister Sophie Perry, 18, were coping by taking things “day by day.” Jack said: “I think everybody’s just doing the best they can and kind of taking it day by day.”
He added:
“It was kind of wild because there was this private thing obviously for me and family, but, at the same time, the whole world was kind of involved.”
Jack shared: “I’m proud to know that my dad touched so many people in a really positive way and made them feel better.” Luke Perry’s son revealed that he’d attended the event to carry on his father’s dedication to charity.
Jack also shared what he’d learned from his father:
“My dad really just taught me to be as nice as you can to everyone you can. He was from Ohio and he grew up with not a lot of money and I think he never really lost touch with who he was. He was always just a really good guy above everything else.”
Luke’s son didn’t follow his father’s footsteps by joining the film industry but instead, he has a wrestling career. His in-the-ring persona is called Jungle Boy.

His character is a Tarzan-like man who competes in matches wearing his long curls in a mane, loin cloth-like shorts, and leopard print everywhere.
Speaking about his career he said: “I just want to go as far as I can.” Even though it’s his steady job Jack revealed: “I’m just having a lot of fun right now.”
On February 27, Luke was hospitalized after suffering a massive stroke and died five days later. A source revealed that the actor never regained consciousness.
Including his two children, his ex-wife Minnie Sharp, fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer, and other close friends and family members were by his side when he passed away. Both of his children posted tributes to their father after his death.
In an Instagram post which included a throwback image of Jack and Luke, the young man honored his father writing: “He was a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, he was always Dad,” adding that “He loved supported me in everything, and inspired me to be the best that I could possibly be.”
Speaking about how else he was honoring his father Jack stated:
“My dad was always a big supporter and advocate of Saint Jude’s and a lot of other charities, and I think it’s important to kind of honor these things.”
