Mel B 'Doing Fine Now' After Herpes Made Her Temporarily Blind
Melanie Brown, famously known as the Spice Girls' Mel B, had her vision restored after she was temporarily blind due to herpes.
Mel Brown had to get the issue of being temporarily blind off her back, as she had rehearsals to worry about. The 43-year-old singer rushed to the hospital complaining about not being able to see with her right eye. This was quite alarming for her, as her left eye was permanently damaged due to an unsuccessful laser surgery back in the '90s.
After her vision returned, she headed back to rehearsals for the upcoming Spice Girls reunion tour.
Troubled Vision
PEOPLE revealed that the singer is doing a lot better now and that this has actually happened before because she has herpes in her eye.
She's doing fine now, she's not blind. This has happened before. She has herpes in her eye, so this can happen."
The source adds that the cause of the alarm was not because of her eye, but because Mel herself said that she was "blind."
“She told the doctor she was blind because she couldn’t see but her eye is okay. They gave her some drops and she’s good now. It was nothing major.”
Spice Girls on Tour
Now that she's made sure her eye is okay, Mel B is now reunited with the rest of the Spice Girls, who have been rehearsing for their upcoming tour.
Their rehearsals have been going smoothly, and Mel is dedicated in making sure the tour is a success.
“They just had the friends and family show and it went well, her youngest daughter came out. She’s very involved with the tour and she’s excited about it. All is going well."
While fans are excited for the Spice Girls to reunite more than two decades after the height of their career, it turns out only four of them will be returning on stage on this tour. Victoria Beckham, known as Posh, will not be joining them due to her busy schedule as a fashion designer.
It turns out, Beckham and producer Simon Fuller both agreed to the tour, only to back out later. However, she still made sure to wish her girls the best of luck as they go on tour.
