Hoda Kotb Shares Cute Photos of Both Daughters Enjoying the Start of Summer
Hoda Kotb, 54, posted pictures of her summer vacation with her two daughters, newborn Hope Catherine, and two-year-old Haley Joy, while on maternity leave from “Today.”
Hoda Kotb is taking an earlier summer vacation, basking under the sun and spending time with her two precious daughters by the beach. The co-anchor posted a series of photos on her Instagram account showing how much fun they are having at an East Coast beach.
One photo featured a beautiful scenery with baby Hope in a baby carrier which Kotb was wearing while looking back at the camera, and Haley holding her mom’s hand and waving with the other.
Another photo showed Kotb and her two-year-old looking at something by the sea wearing matching pink tops while holding hands. The photo was captioned “Exploring,” by Kotb.
The mother-of-two also posted a video of Haley running on the beach and reaching out for a small ball while her mother tells her “good job” in the background.
Kotb’s two children are adopted after it was revealed that having a child was beyond the bounds of possibility following her cancer treatment.
Ten years ago, she battled breast cancer and recovered but faced the consequences, and months later, divorced from her then-husband, Burzis Kanga.
“One of the tings in my life I’ve always wanted was to be a mom,” Kotb told PEOPLE. “Sometimes in your life, things just don’t work out for whatever reason, so you say, ‘Well, I wasn’t meant to have that.’ But it was really hard to come to terms with it.”
After her ordeal, on February 14, 2017, Kotb’s wishes of being a mother finally came true as she welcomed Haley into her life. During her first Mothers Day, she spoke about how her daughter allowed her to honor her mother.
“It’s funny because I thought I had the most perfect life, and then I realized after her I didn’t. I realized that this is infinitely better. Every single day is infinitely better than before she came,” Kotb shared.
