The busted college scam case has Huffman as one of the accused persons who are allegedly involved in paying William Singer a substantial amount of money to help get kids into college.

The case started in March when authorities arrested Felicity Huffman and the others entwined in the college admission scam which also includes actress, Lori Loughlin and her designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli.

William Singer allegedly received chunks of money to help some wealthy people’s kids secure admissions in top universities like Stanford, UCLA, and Georgetown, among others. The process involved enlisting the kids into the universities’ sports crew for ease of college admission.

The singer was charged with offenses including racketeering, money laundering, fraud and obstruction of justice. Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were both accused of mail fraud. Although Loughlin and her hubby were arrested, Huffman’s spouse was not indicted or charged with any crimes.

The accused couple pleaded not guilty in court, while Felicity admitted to committing the said crimes. The “Transamerica” actress revealed that she had paid William Singer a sum of $50,000 to help with Sofia’s SAT exam scores.

According to “E! News,” the attorney in charge will recommend either a “low end” sentence or a fine of 20,000 dollars with regards to a plea agreement. The attorney also put forward 12-months of supervised release and restitution payment.

The Hollywood star admitted she is not proud of the actions. Felicity pleaded guilty in a statement as she stated that she regrets taking such steps, and takes “full responsibility as well as consequences that go with the charges.

"I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community,” Huffman added while going on to apologize to parents, and also clarifying that Sofia was not involved.

Sofia has plans to take a break after her high school graduation as she puts a halt on immediate college plans. Despite the scandal, Huffman’s family do not hold anything against her as Macy, and his daughters stand by Felicity while helping her remain strong.
