People Compare Ivanka Trump’s New Photo to Horror Movie Posters
On Monday, the US presidential family arrived in London for the president’s three-day state visit. At one point, the first daughter was photographed standing by a window with her husband and sparked an internet frenzy.
President Donald Trump, 72, his wife Melania Trump, 49, his daughter Ivanka Trump, 37, and her husband Jared Kushner, 38, were all in the UK this week. Social media users began mocking and teasing the first daughter after a photo circulated on the internet.
In the image, Ivanka and her husband were photographed looking outside a window at Buckingham Palace. The picture was taken during the president's welcoming ceremony
The couple appeared in the image standing side-by-side and gazing outside with blank expressions on their faces. Social media users were quick to turn the image into a meme.
“I didn’t know they were remaking The Shining! Terrifying!"
Some Twitter users compared the couple’s pose to scenes from a number of horror films. A few people joked that the couple looked like they were posing for the cover image of “The Shining,” “The Omen,” and “Flowers in the Attic.”
Meredith Lee wrote on Twitter: “I didn’t know they were remaking The Shining! Terrifying! #IvankaTrump #Trump.” Emily Nussbaum shared the image as well and simply added: “Flowers in the Attic.”
Clara Jeffery joked: “The new Omen movie looks lit.” Someone with the name Geraldine created a collage and captioned it, writing: “I added the photo of Jared and Ivanka looking out the window to a collage of V.C. Andrews novel covers and honestly it blends in really well.”
Ivanka and her husband are both senior advisers in the White House. They didn’t appear pleased to have their image taken as neither of them were seen smiling.
The first daughter wore an all-white outfit by Italian-born London-based designer Alessandra Rich. She posted a similar image on Instagram and Twitter.
Ivanka captioned her post: “Looking forward to another great day in London. #USStateVisit.” The presidential family left the UK on Wednesday.
On the same day, the first daughter tweeted about visiting a city in the Netherlands, and that post also went viral for all the wrong reasons. She wrote: “En route to The Hague” where she was going to participate in the 2019 Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
The Hague also happens to be home to the International Criminal Court and the United Nations’ International Court of Justice. Social media users found it ironic since the Trumps are accused of different criminal activities.
