Carrie Underwood Lights up the CMT Awards with Her Performance
Carrie Underwood had the crowd going wild during the spectacular performance of her new single, “Southbound,” at the Parthenon monument where she also accepted an award.
Country music sensation, Carrie Underwood, set Nashville on fire after her fantastic performance at the 2019 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday, that had fans in a craze even after the show.
Underwood stepped on the Parthenon monument stage in a colorful ensemble and sang her new single, “Southbound,” which was an instant hit among the crowd. Fans continuously cheered for their favorite artist while waving glow sticks in the air, lighting up the monument.
Fans of the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer couldn’t help but take to Twitter their reactions over Underwood’s performance, complimenting not only her incredible voice but also her flashy outfit.
“Carrie Underwood did not just light up the parthenon in nashville and throw a party complete with a helicopter fly over getting the over top shot. Carrie Underwood,” one fan wrote.
“I loved Carrie’s performance especially the ending, and her outfit was so cute,” another said.
One fan even complimented the country singer’s toned legs, suggesting it be cloned by a “top secret Govt Lab” for “future generations to come.”
Underwood’s talent didn’t go unnoticed as she bagged the “Female Video of the Year” award during the event. After accepting her award, the singer quipped that the win was a present for her husband, Mike Fisher’s, birthday.
“It’s my husband’s birthday today. Look what they got you,” the 36-year-old said. “Thank you so much. God bless you, guys. Thank you, CMT. Thank you.”
The couple tied the knot in 2010 and recently welcomed their second son, Jacob, brother to Isaiah, 4. Jacob was born in January and quickly made his debut to the world through his mom’s Instagram account.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Online, the “American Idol” champion shared that although she enjoyed her pregnancy, the second one was more difficult.
