Gwen Stefani's Ex Gavin Rossdale Once Found out a Goddaughter Was Actually His Biological Child

The former frontman for the rock band Bush, Gavin Rossdale’s world turned upside down in 2004 after he found out that goddaughter, Daisy Lowe, is his daughter. A revelation Pearl Lowe paid for dearly.

During the late 1980s, while married to fertility specialist Bronner Handwerger, Pearl Lowe had a five-year relationship with Gavin Rossdale. After Daisy’s birth, Gavin became her godfather.

Learning the truth

Fourteen years passed during which everyone believed Bronner to be Daisy’s father, but then daisy discovered that neither Bronner nor Pearl shared her O-type blood.

Daisy then asked Pearl if she could take a paternity test to find out who her birth father is, Pearl acquiesced with dire consequences.

After Pearl allowed Daisy to take the test, Gavin refused to speak to Pearl and distanced himself from the family.

Daisy became a successful British model and revealed in 2010 that she and Gavin had developed a relationship over the years. She had also grown close to her half brothers Kingston and Zuma. Daisy said:

“I now have a really good relationship with my father. It’s been blossoming for the past year, but it really happened over Christmas. We got to spend time together. He’s got two beautiful kids who I adore, and his wife is gorgeous."

With Gavin married to Gwen Stefani at the time, they had another son, Apollo before they announced the end of their marriage of thirteen years in 2015.

In 2015, Daisy told the Guardian that she felt “delighted” that her biological father turned out to be Gavin Rossdale. "I was so happy the day I found out Gavin was my dad. I'd always looked up to him… There's no handbook," she said.

The final blow to Gwen and Gavin’s marriage came on February 9, 2015, after Gwen discovered that Gavin had been sleeping with their nanny, Mindy Mann. “It was the beginning of hell,” Gwen said during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.

The couple initially met while Bush and No Doubt toured with the Goo Goo Dolls in 1995 and got married in 2002. Shortly after they wed, Gavin found out that Daisy Lowe is his daughter.

Gwen dealt with the blow to their marriage, and they moved on with their lives. Another strike followed in 2010 after Courtney Love confessed on the Howard Stern Show to sleeping with Gavin during his marriage to Gwen.

She forgave him, but the second time, she gave him the boot. “My dreams were shattered,” Gwen said. “All I wanted my whole life was to have babies, be married, like what my parents have.”

After their split, the pair remained focussed on peacefully co-parenting their three children while they moved on with their lives.

Shortly after Gavin and Gwen’s divorce, she started dating country singer Blake Shelton. With both being public figures, rumors about their relationship circulated continuously from breaking up to getting married and back again.
