Kevin Hart Sued by Woman Who Claims Security Team Knocked Her to the Ground

Kevin Hart has been sued for assault and battery after his bodyguard knocked a woman to the ground which injured her.

While escorting Kevin out of an event, his security detail shoved an innocent pedestrian on the street which left her with a broken face.

According to TMZ, a woman named Carmen Marrero is now demanding for justice after being a victim of circumstance. She was allegedly minded her own business while walking on a New York City sidewalk when Kevin and his security detail went storming out of a building which ended with her on the ground with a bloody face.

A Chance Incident

Kevin was in the building for a screening of his latest movie "The Upside," while according to Marrero's attorney, Richard Russo, she was crossing the street and trying to walk past a small crowd that gathered outside the screening.

Carmen says that when she was trying to pass through, that's when his bodyguards started pushing people, which threw her to the ground and fractured her face.

Now, Kevin, his production company, and SAG-AFTRA are facing a lawsuit against her for assault and battery, which will ultimately lead to her getting a large amount of money.

A Smeared Reputation

Hart was also put in a bad light earlier this year because people unearthed his homophobic tweets. It added fuel to the fire that Kevin refused to apologize for what he'd previously said.

However, after keeping mum about the issue, the actor ended up backing out as the host of the 91st Academy Awards, explaining that he didn't want any trouble for the Oscars and he also took the time to apologize to the LGBTQ community for his words.

During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, he revealed his true and authentic self, acknowledging that he was not educated on the issues of gender, and is apologetic for the insensitive words he used.

A Second Chance

Believing in Hart and his authenticity, Ellen ended up revealing that she spoke to the Academy to try and get Kevin the hosting gig back.

"I called them, I said, 'Kevin’s on, I have no idea if he wants to come back and host, but what are your thoughts?' And they were like, 'Oh my God, we want him to host! We feel like that maybe he misunderstood or it was handled wrong. Maybe we said the wrong thing but we want him to host. Whatever we can do we would be thrilled. And he should host the Oscars."

While Kevin responded that he would think about it, he ended up forgoing his role as this year's host, but he hopes to have the same opportunity in the future.
