Ziva’s New Magazine Cover Excites NCIS Fans about the Upcoming New Season
The NCIS team took to social media to tease that Ziva, one of its most famous characters, is making a comeback as well as to share news of her landing a magazine cover.
The post which came on the 5th of June was a photo of the famous NCIS character on the cover of a TV guide magazine which teased her return.
“NCIS Ziva’s back! The fan favorite returns from the dead – to save Gibbs,” it reads on the magazine.
NCIS will have a season renewal, and Ziva’s return is somewhat a surprising one for fans. Viewers had been led to believe she was dead and forever off the show since the 13th season.
During the recently-aired final episode for the 16th season, Ziva David, played by Cote de Pablo, returned to give Gibbs, played by Mike Harmon, a warning that his life may be in danger.
While Ziva’s reappearance is a startling one, it is a much welcome change judging by the frenzied response from avid fans of the popular crime drama. The NCIS team tweeted to announce her reappearance proudly and her gracing the magazine cover.
“Ziva is back on #NCIS and on the cover of @TVGuide! On newsstands this week!” they wrote alongside a photo of the cover.
The news met with excited reactions from fans who lauded the team for bringing one of their favorite characters back to life. One fan, @AdamGordon1977, replied to the NCIS post by writing:
“I am so glad #Ziva is back. I can't wait to see her this fall on #NCIS.”
Another avid fan, @Bernadette7071 even declared her hopes that Ziva’s return is not just a joke. She tweeted:
“It's not April 1st, so I hope it's not. After this trailer, we need to see more Ziva.”
These are just a tiny few of the numerous comments popping on social media platforms as fans express great joy at the update. It has become a viral discussion especially on Twitter proving how widely popular the fictional character has grown since her first appearance on the series’ third season.
Cote De Pablo, a Chilean-American actress, who plays Ziva David, expressed disapproval for her character's seemingly quick exit from the show back then.
The sterling actress, while speaking in an interview with “Yahoo TV” after she left in the show's 13th season, had disclosed that she had "wanted to stay for more episodes, but had no choice in that matter."
However, she maintained that she was still on good terms with the NCIS team and may even return someday since they never “killed off” Ziva. Little did she know!
While no date is confirmed yet for the retturn of the show's 17th season, its massive fan following now have something to sit and patiently wait for.
