Barack and Michelle Obama Spotted at Daughter Sasha’s Graduation from Private School
Barack and Michelle Obama were recently spotted at Sidwell Friends School cheering for their youngest daughter, Sasha Obama, who graduated from high school.
On Sunday, June 9, 2019, the former First Couple sat amongst several other parents to see their little girl receive the diploma from the private school, which costs around $40,000 a year.
Since it was a private event, the media was not able to snap many photos. However, other students have taken to Instagram to share pictures in which the Obamas can be seen.
ON HER WAY TO COLLEGE
The proud parents couldn't contain their excitement as they saw Sasha, who turned 18 on Monday, accept the diploma. It has been reported that she is now expected to attend the University of Michigan in the fall.
Former Vice President Joe Biden was also in attendance
After the ceremony, the Obamas, who were accompanied by their eldest daughter Malia, were seen mingling with the other parents inside the auditorium.
Sidwell Friends School later took to their official Facebook page to share a beautiful and meaningful photo of the class of 2019, in which Sasha can be spotted in the second row from the back, fourth from the left.
BEST FRIENDS UNDER THE SAME ROOF
Surprisingly, former Vice President Joe Biden was also in attendance on Sunday. The 76-year-old made sure to make an appearance to support his granddaughter Roberta "Maisy" Mabel Biden, who also graduated.
Biden was so proud that he shared the moment with his fans and followers on Instagram by posting a picture of himself with his wife, Jill Biden, and Maisy.
FELICITY HUFFMAN'S RARE PUBLIC APPEARANCE
But the Obamas and the Bidens weren't the only ones with a reason to celebrate. "Desperate Housewives" actress Felicity Huffman also attended her daughter Sophia's graduation during the weekend.
The 56-year-old's appearance at the Dolby Theater, in Hollywood, was quite a surprise, especially after she pleaded guilty in the infamous college admissions scandal.
Her husband, "Shameless" actor William H. Macy, also showed up to support his 18-year-old daughter, who recited soliloquies from several plays alongside fellow students at LA County High School for the Arts.
