'Chrisley Knows Best' Todd Chrisley Worries Why Son Grayson Isn't Sharing His Secret

On the recent episode of Chrisley Knows Best, the patriarch of the family revealed that he sensed his preteen son was hiding something from him but the young boy wasn’t sharing.

During Tuesday's episode, Todd Chrisley proved why he “Knew Best.” On the episode, he picked up that his son Grayson, 12, was keeping something from him.

However, he just couldn't get him to reveal what it was. The patriarch of the Chrisley family initially became suspicious when he was out with his son to watch a film.

"SOMETHING'S UP."

The preteen spent most of the screening whispering secretly to his friend. After the trip, Todd shared with his wife Julie: "I feel like Grayson has a secret. I don't know what it is yet, but something's up."

The reality television star couldn’t help but be suspicious because his son’s normal personality was a very open one. Todd’s other son was the one who filled him in on why he was out of the loop.

CHASE TELLS TODD HE'S OLD AND OUT OF THE LOOP

Chase, 21, told his father that he was clueless "because you're old. You're not fun. You're not cool anymore." Instead of letting the comment dishearten him, Todd became even more determined to figure out the secret.

The family patriarch noted:

"Grayson's not really sharing as much with us as he normally does, so therefore that tells me he's hiding something. I will figure it out. There is no secret you'll be able to keep from Todd."

TODD TRIES TO USE RETAIL THERAPY TO MAKE GRAYSON SPEAK

Todd devised a plan that he would take the preteen out clothes shopping. While doing that he hoped the boy would become "so comfortable that he will turn around and say, 'Hey Dad, can I tell you something you can't tell mom?'"

Instead, the plan backfired as his son acted like a typical preteen and all his father got were eye rolls instead of honesty. Feeling lost and defeated, Todd enlisted the help of his own mother, Nanny Faye.

NANNY FAYE GIVES GOOD ADVICE

She advised him to simply "sit back and be patient and let him come to you.” Faye explained: "You have a good relationship with him, so when he needs you he will come to you."

Her advice paid off when Grayson eventually opened up to his father while they played a game of cards. The preteen confessed: "I may or may not have a girlfriend."

"I WAS STARTING TO FEEL LIKE I WASN'T COOL"

Wanting to be equally honest with his son, Todd replied: "I'm glad that you told me. I was starting to feel like I wasn't cool or I was too old." Reflecting on the situation later the reality star said: "I guess what I learned this week is it's OK to give your kids a little bit of space."

However, those words didn’t last long because he insisted on accompanying Grayson on a sweet ice cream date with his new girlfriend. Ironically, Todd added in his reflection: "Let your child come to you, because hopefully that's what they're gonna do."

TODD CONTRADICTS HIMSELF

His wife couldn’t help but give him the side eye while he added, "And then when they don't, you start camping out in their room again."
