Donnie Wahlberg of 'Blue Bloods' Fame Shares a Rare Photo with His Sons
Donnie Wahlberg shared rare shots of three family members that fans don't normally get to see. He also posted a sweet message for Father's Day.
The "Blue Bloods" star, who plays Danny Reagan on the show, shared a heartwarming photo of his three sons as he celebrated being a father on Sunday.
In the first shot, Xavier Alexander Wahlberg and Elijah Hendrix Wahlberg are hugged by their father in an old photo. The boys are now 26 and 17 years old respectively.
Donnie shares his first two sons with his ex-wife Kimberly Fey. He re-married to Jenny McCarthy in 2014 and is also stepfather to Evan Joseph Asher, 17.
Asher is presumably the brown-haired boy in a tuxedo in the second picture. Donnie smiles down at him as he fixes his tie. In a moving caption, the actor wrote:
"#HappyFathersDay to the millions of other lucky guys (like myself) who have the honor of calling themselves a dad and sharing in the most important responsibility that a man will ever have in his lifetime — fatherhood. Keep doing your very best! It will always be good enough!"
Jenny also shared a Father's Day message on Instagram alongside a black-and-white photo of her and her husband. "To my one and only... @donniewahlberg Happy Father's Day. I love You, baby," she captioned it.
She described Donnie as "the most amazing man" and said that he gives their kids "someone to admire, respect, and inspire to be like." Donnie commented under the post, "Don't be making me cry."
The adorable couple is not only successful as parents, but they've also managed to do really well from a financial standpoint. Donnie has a number of skills in his repertoire, including singing, songwriting, and producing.
Long before he made it big on "Blue Bloods," he was one of the leading members of the popular '80s boy band "New Kids on the Block." Donnie, who is the older brother of A-lister Mark Wahlberg, later made his acting debut in 1996 in the film "Bullet."
In 1999, he landed a major role in the hit thriller "The Sixth Sense." He's found success in other popular shows and movies like 2003's "Dreamcatcher," and 2005's "Saw" along with its subsequent installments.
In 2007, fans were thrilled to see Donnie in the reunion of the New Kids on the Block. Finally, he started on "Blue Bloods" in 2010. Overall, he has over 60 acting credits to his name.
According to Country Living, Donnie earns between an estimated $60,000 and $150,0000 for each episode of the CBS show. His reported net worth is approximately $20 million.
