Alex Rodriguez Reportedly Claimed Kylie Jenner Talked about 'How Rich She Is' at Met Gala

The former New York Yankees star wasn’t much impressed with the young TV personality when he got to sit with her at the 2019 Met Gala, and he shared her alleged limited topics of conversation in a recent interview.

43-year-old Alex Rodriguez has ascended from fallen-from-grace sportsman to celebrity gossip news’ favorite in a matter of 5 years, mostly because of his romance of more than two years with his fiancée 49-year-old Jennifer Lopez.

In a recent Sports Illustrated interview, Rodriguez reflected about how his life has changed in the last years and how it was to be part of the exclusive world of celebrities, and he opened up about his experience at the latest Met Gala.

While he was excited about sharing a table with high-profile members of the entertainment such as actor Idris Elba and designer Donatella Versace, but he appeared to have been bored by 20-year-old reality TV star Kylie Jenner.

“We had Kylie and Kendall. And we had an Asian gentleman from Rich Asians, the lead. Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is,” Rodriguez stated.

While Rodriguez is known to have a good relationship with the Kardashian-Jenner’s, even making an appearance on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” once for a charity event, but Kylie wasn’t going to have him shaming her in public.

KYLIE RESPONDS, HE CLARIFIES

“Ummm, no, I didn’t,” the cosmetics mogul tweeted in response to a People magazine article about the conversation between Rodriguez and her. Instead, she claims that all she ever spoke with him about was “Games of Thrones.”

Rodriguez reacted in a most friendly way, proving that he wasn’t interested in entering into a feud with the influential socialite, and he replied to her comment by recognizing his “mistake.”

“OMG that’s right @KylieJenner. It was me talking about you and your makeup line and how much my girls love you,” the father-of-two wrote.

FANS GET INVOLVED

But despite his attempt to make it up to Kylie, the harm was already done, and many Twitter users stepped in to discredit Rodriguez’s clarification, suggesting he was either being polite or sarcastic.

“Is he being sarcastic? Lol,” a social media user wrote. “You didn’t say that in the interview,” another user called him out. “Well that’s awkward @AROD,” yet another user pointed out.

Others defended Kylie and said she had every reason to talk about her interests, however shallow Rodriguez might have found them, for, they argue, she has created a very successful business out of her love for fashion and taking advantage of her social media platform.

“If Kylie was talk about her makeup line & her net worth of a Billion dollars, she proud of her accomplishments at a young age & who could blame her,” someone tweeted.

KYLIE IS PROUD OF HER ACHIEVEMENTS

As a matter of fact, Kylie was named the youngest self-made billionaire by Forbes, partly thanks to the makeup line she launched in 2015, capitalizing on her reality TV fame.

“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future. But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back… I work really hard,” Kylie said about the title she earned.
