Sherri Shepherd opened up about the reason she didn't listen to everyone when they told her not to marry her former husband, Lamar Sally. "I was horny," she said.

It’s been four years since Sherri Shepherd divorced her husband, Lamar Sally, a man many of her friends thought was no good for her. However, during a recent interview with DL Hughley, the former co-host of “The View” opened up about the lessons she learned from that relationship and the superficial reason she got into it in the first place.

"THAT'S A SORRY A** DUDE"

DL opened up the topic of Sherri’s ex-husband by telling her straight forward, “That’s a sorry a** dude.” An unsurprised Sheri volunteered he’s not the only one who thought that way. In fact, she said Steve Harvey, Barbara Walters, and Whoopi Goldberg didn't attend her wedding for the same reason.

“Everybody tried to tell me. The only person who showed up was Kym Whitley because she got a free iPad and she was my bridesmaid. We gave away free iPads [and laughs].”

I was out there by myself. I didn’t have custody of Jeffrey, I’m fighting for custody of Jeffrey, and Niecy Nash introduced me to this person.”

"I WAS LONELY"

Sherri admitted there was a reason she didn’t listen to her friends and forged ahead with her marriage to Sally. She was desperate for company.

“I was in New York doing “The View” and I was lonely. That’s what it was. You can’t do stuff out of fear and being lonely,” she said. “All of the women of The View were amazing but they had lives. Whoopi would go home and eat her brownies, she was gone for the night. Then Elizabeth Hasselbeck had her family and Joy [Behar] had hers so I was out there by myself. I didn’t have custody of Jeffrey, I’m fighting for custody of Jeffrey, and Niecy Nash introduced me to this person.”

"It was a lot of stuff done out of fear.”

"I WAS IN MY 40S AND SCARED"

Niecy has since regretted setting up Sherri after learning later on what a no-good guy Lamar turned out to be. In fact, Niecy’s husband had a falling out with Lamar too. However, Sherri couldn’t blame Niecy despite vowing never to trust her friend to set her up again. There were other reasons beyond the comedian’s control that prompted the 52-year-old to engage with Lamar.

“At the time I was in my 40s and scared. I was like, ‘I’m getting older, who’s going to want to be in a relationship?’ It was a lot of stuff done out of fear.”

"So I got married too because I was horny, and look, we never had sex.”

"I WAS HORNY"

Sherri added that her belief in the whole no-sex-before-marriage church rule was another big factor.

“I was horny! The whole celibacy thing, this idea that it’s better to get married than to burn. So I got married too because I was horny, and look, we never had sex.”

"I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER MARRIAGE"

Sherri’s marriage to Lamar began in 2011 and ended in 2015. They share a two-year-old son who was conceived using Lamar’s sperm and a donor egg.

The former couple’s divorce proved to be as much a headache as their marriage as they fought for their son’s custody with Lamar winning the case and Sherri being ordered to pay child support. More recently, Lamar demanded an increase in Sherri’s child support payments but the court denied it.

"They go to court together, Dumber and Dumb A–”

It is a blessing for Sherri to be rid of that burden considering she's also a mother to a 14-year-old son with developmental delays whose father is her first husband, Jeff Tarpley. Jeff receives child support from her. In fact, at one point she faced both exes in court because Jeff and Lamar are friends.

"They go to court together, Dumber and Dumb A–,” Sherri spilled on The Wendy Williams Show.

Sherri thinks they bond over the fact that they both don't have to live with her anymore and that's just fine. She has no intentions of being married again. "i can't afford another marriage," she said.
