Salt 'N’ Pepa Slammed by Fans after Kicking off NKOTB's Mixtape Tour without Spinderella
Female hip hop artists, “Salt ‘N’ Pepa” got chided by angry fans after posting on social media months after letting off Dj Spinderella. The rappers are on the verge of losing a majority of their fans.
Cheryl and Sandy, the lead artists of the iconic “Salt ‘N’ Pepa” female hip hop group have been getting bashed on social media since the revelation that they dismissed DJ Spinderella.
CHICAGO ISN’T “READY’ WITHOUT SPIN
Sympathizers of spin have wasted no time in castigating the hip hop crew, tagging them unpleasant names as they expressed their displeasure.
A recent Instagram post by the female rappers, which was captioned: “Chicago you ready,” has gone viral due to all the negative comments fans left in protest of Spinderella’s exclusion from the team.
The situation gets worse as more fans threatened to end their following if the fired DJ is not reinstated. A comment by one of the embittered fans read:
“Use to love you guys as a kid however the more I watch the ladies night show on BET. You guys are looking like real mean girls towards Spindarella.”
Another fan is of the opinion that Spin should have been an equal partner in the group, having been with them for over twenty years. In reply to the question captioned in the post, “Salt ‘N’ Pepa” fans worldwide seem to speak in one voice saying:
“Not Without Spin.”
HAVE THE RAP LEGENDS TRUELY MOVED ON?
The female artists have not reacted to any of the internet trolling and fans have turned to the reality show, “BET” to get answers to the much-asked question about why the DJ was fired. Barely months after the sad breakup, the singers got a new jam, where they get to feature on “Ladies Night,” a BET reality television show.
The ladies delved into details about their breakup with Spin. It has been speculated ever since that the female rappers only let her off because they didn’t want her to reap the same financial benefits as them since she was not an original member of the group.
Deidra Ropper, known as DJ Spinderella joined the crew in 1987, after the exit of the initial DJ, Latoya, and since then, she has remained an asset in building up the team and their notable fame.
The trio took over the world of hip hop at a time when being a female rapper was questionable, and have won hearts together ever since.
However, Spin revealed in May that she will not feature in the show, “The Mixtape Tour” because the group fired her in January, and chose to keep it a secret for reasons best known to them.
She made the announcement via a post on social media, and fans immediately turned their backs on Salt and Pepa, for their alleged thoughtless decision.
It appears the DJ is not as replaceable as they thought after all.
