Amy Roloff Gives a Brief Update on Mom's Health in Response to a Fan
Amy Roloff took time to update a fan who asked about her parents because the reality star recently revealed that her mother was not doing too well.
Amy, 54, clearly had a blast over the Fourth of July weekend when she went near the White Salmon River and the Klickitat Valley with some friends and her longtime boyfriend Chris Marek.
Amy is living it up while not forgetting what matters the most
She shared that it was the first place the couple went on a motorcycle ride three years ago. "Still just as amazing," Amy insisted in the caption. She also called it "spectacular fantastic and memorable." The post is found below.
In the midst of the many comments praising Amy for enjoying the trip to the fullest — as proven by her extremely messy locks in several of the pictures — the reality star was questioned about her mother by a concerned fan.
Amy answered:
"She's hanging in there. I'm going to Michigan July 24th for a week to see my parents. Won't be able to make it up north of Mackinac probably this summer. Time w/them is more precious right now."
Her previous report about her mother's heatlh had fans looking down
The fan was following up from a June post in which Amy revealed that her "mom isn't doing so well." Her parents reside in Michigan, where Amy said she'll be going as she "needs to see them."
"Every moment is precious the older I get and the older they get," she wrote. "Like the old days I'm going to make dinner for them. This Michigan girl is coming home," she finished.
In a subsequent post, Amy regretted that the reason for her going home was due to her mother's hospital stay, but added that she loves "coming 'home' to Michigan."
She made a special meal for a special someone in Michigan
During her first visit back home, the mother of four showed off the dinner she made for her father, revealing that he enjoyed it and that she had fun making it for him. Another post gave more details about her mother's situation.
She wrote:
"She's ready [to come home] and tired of hospital food, that's a good sign. Her heart is weak though and she gets tired easily but her mind is sharp. The transition of slowing down and not doing all she’d like to do will be hard. Just need to appreciate the moments, what she can do and the days that are left."
She went on to thank fans for their thoughts and prayers. Her trip later this month will be the third for the year, as she flew over back in January to celebrate her mother's 86th birthday.
Matt and Amy were together for nearly three decades before their marriage fell apart
Amy was with ex-husband Matt Roloff for 27 years until their divorce in 2016. The two became popular from their show "Little People, Big World," which followed the family as they managed the Roloff Farms.
Matt moved on with girlfriend Caryn Chandler, while Amy was lucky enough to find Marek. The latter has never been married, but he seems to fit right in with Amy's family based on their social media.
Marek, a real estate agent, is frequently seen enjoying holidays with the family and he and Amy often go on adventures together. The two appear to be very happy together.
Amy's book made a shocking revelation
We're hoping things don't turn out like Amy's former relationship if the allegations written in her new book, titled "A Little Me," are to be believed. According to a sneak peek from late June, Amy claimed Matt and Chandler were romantically involved even before the divorce.
Chandler was an employee on the farm for years before the split, so it's unclear at what point she and Matt pursued a relationship. According to Amy, her then-husband spent "more and more time at the tavern" at one point, as did Chandler, who was also married back then.
Amy said she noticed "messages, pictures, and other things that should not have been shared between people who just worked together and were still married to other people." She regretted not saying something out of fear and shame. We hope she's able to let go the alleged deceit and just be happy with her new beau.
