A Peek inside the Homes of the Duggar Family
The Duggar family seems to always be expanding meaning they constantly need more space at home. With some of the Duggar children tying the knot and starting their own families, the family now owns a number of properties.
The reality TV family, are well known in Tontitown, Arkansas where they settled down. Fans can't help wondering what type of home the Duggars consider home.
The main family home needed to house over 21 people. However, as the older children got married and moved into their own smaller homes as well.
Main Duggar Home
The size of the Duggar family meant they needed a mansion-sized home. Initially, the Duggars lived in a 2,450-square foot home but they quickly outgrew the small property.
To house their 19 children, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggars were forced to build a massive 7,000-square foot custom mansion.
The home was completed in 2006. When they moved in they only had 17 children but the couple always intended to have more children.
"The house grew, from two of them to three of them! It worked out perfectly," Michelle said. "Now we have added on a whole other part of the house, which is the girls' room and the garage down below."
Jessa and Ben Seewald's Home
In the same area as her parents, Jessa and Ben Seewald bought their own modest home. They live in a quaint home with their two children.
The other Duggar siblings helped the couple remodel the house. They removed the carpet and replaced it with hardwood floors as well as other small changes.
Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo
Unlike her sister, Jinger and her husband Jeremy Vuolo moved away from Arkansas after tying the knot. The couple settled down in Houston, Texas in the same apartment Jeremy lived in before their marriage.
Jinger and her sister Jessa changed the space to feel more homely. However, the couple later moved home after finding out they were expecting their first child.
Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth's Home:
The Forsyths are known for their gypsy-like lifestyle. The couple buys, upgrade and flip homes for a living.
At one point they lived in a camper. When they are in a house they give fans glimpses of the upgrades they make before they flip it.
Jill and Derick Dillard
Jill and her husband Derick Dillard used to live near the family in Arkansas, but they recently moved to Central America to do mission work. The couple's home is often mistaken as small.
However, the modest home is spacious enough to include a guest bedroom for fellow missionaries. It even has an office for Derick.
Josiah and Lauren Duggar
In January 2019, Josiah Duggar and his wife Lauren Swanson rented an apartment instead of buying a house. The relatively large apartment has an extra bedroom and space for a piano.
