Cardi B Fires Back at ‘Rapist’ Label after Old Video Resurfaced
Cardi B is setting the record straight after some haters have been accusing her of sexually assaulting men back in her days as a stripper. The accusations stem from an old video that resurfaced in March, where the rapper admitted to drugging and robbing some of her clients.
Cardi B is tired of people trying to put a “rapist” label on her when she has never hurt anybody, the “Bodak Yellow” said in a recent Instagram live.
Back in March, the 25-year-old Bronx native gained backlash after fans unearthed an old video where, while talking about her past life as an exotic dancer, Cardi admitted she used to drug some of her clients and then rob them.
At the time, Cardi replied to the backlash by stating that, like everyone else, she had a past that she wasn’t proud of.
However, the accusations have resurfaced once again after some people started to demand Cardi to be punished by her actions, accusing her of sexually assaulting her clients by being with them after drugging them.
On Friday, Cardi took to Instagram live to address the situation and slam the rumors about her past for once and for all.
“I have a past that I can’t change — we all do,” she said. “I don’t like it when people be trying to call me a rapist. I don’t like that s**t. Because people tried to dig up something and make it something that I didn’t do.”
"I never touched nobody. I never f***ed nobody," she continued, adding that sexual assault is “when you f**k somebody without their consent or without asking."
Cardi didn’t deny to robbing some of her clients, but she insisted she never had to put drugs on them because they arrived at the club where she worked already drunk, high or both.
She said:
“I never put s**t in n***as' drinks. Yeah, I went through n***as' pockets. A lot of you b****es be going through n***as' pockets for $40 to catch a cab because a n***a don't want to give you that. Was I wrong for that? That was wrong, but I never hurt nobody."
The “Clout” rapper also pointed out that most of her clients were drug dealers and scammers, and she was one of New York’s most popular strippers at the time. So, if she would have assaulted or drugged someone, people would have found out quickly.
"If I was to ever harm or put a n***a in a situation, f**k jail, n***as would have cut my face [and] beat my ass," she stated.
Cardi is currently facing 12 criminal charges for assault, harassment, and conspiracy following a fight at a New York strip club last year.
She pleaded not guilty and is set to return to court in September. If convicted, she could face up to four years in jail.
