Tess Holliday Posts Inspiring Message for Plus-Sized Women Afraid of Wearing Swimsuits with Shots of Son Bowie
Tess Holliday wrote a message to inspire plus-sized women to live their lives to the fullest, and not miss out on its beautiful moments because of fear over their body size.
American Model, Ryan Maegen Hoven, professionally known as Tess Holliday, is an inspiration to many; she has an impressive career that many would not believe possible, due to her body size.
Tess is a model, blogger, and make-up artiste, and her life story in itself is an inspiration. She recently posted a picture of herself and son, Bowie, with a caption that speaks to plus-sized women like herself.
TESS HOLLIDAY’S INSPIRATIONAL POST
Tess Holliday posted a picture and video of herself and three-year-old son, Bowie enjoying some fun time at the pool. The photo may have been adorable, and the footage cute, but it was Tess’s accompanying caption that caught the eye.
In it, she had words of inspiration for plus-sized women. Tess began by saying that her son would never know what it was like to have a mom who didn’t love her body. She then went on to narrate her experience with her first son, Rylee.
It’s summertime, and most activities are held outside due to the heat, but some plus-sized women are at a disadvantage; they are fearful of showing their bodies coupled with the added pressure of terms like “beach bodies.”
Such feelings made Tess miss out on many fun activities with Rylee as she was always scared to put on a swimsuit because of her size. Thus, she has no picture of herself in a swimsuit with him.
However, Tess resolved after a long time, that that must change with her second son Bowie. She ended her post by telling plus-sized women to go on to have beautiful experiences and take pictures to remember those moments.

Bowie will never know what it’s like to have a mom who doesn’t love her body. 🤯 Mind-blowing huh? I’ve been thinking about this because it’s summer and literally every activity is outside/in the heat, and we have the added pressure of people using toxic diet culture language like “beach bodies”. I’ve been a Mom for thirteen years, and early on with my oldest son, there were countless moments I missed out on. Why? Because I was too afraid to put a bathing suit on. Being seen in public somewhere that I couldn’t hide my fat body in a cardigan was my worst nightmare. I don’t have any photos of me & Rylee at the beach or playing in the pool because I didn’t own a bathing suit from the ages of 13-24. Even though it took me longer than I wished, I have amazing memories like this with Bowie and made up for lost time with my oldest too. Don’t let fear keep you from enjoying your life, you deserve beautiful experiences, and beautiful photographs to remember them by! #effyourbeautystandards #beachbody
TESS’S MESSAGE HITS HOME
Tess’s post was well applauded, with hundreds of comments thanking her for the inspiration. Many of the commenters also recounted their own experiences, while some vowed to have more adventures with their kids, plus-sized or not.
When pregnant with Bowie, Tess received criticism from some quarters, as she was questioned for getting pregnant while being plus-sized. After giving birth, she took time to address those criticisms and trolls.

I don’t post much about my personal life anymore bc I just assume no one really cares. 🙈 This algorithm stuff has me doubting everything I’ve been doing, and the reality is, unless I’m naked, my posts don’t really “do well”. I mean, good thing I know that IG isn’t real life, but still. 🤡 So, I guess what I’m saying is: Plz enjoy how dewy my skin looks after a 12 hour flight & what do you want me to share more of with y’all??! ( & don’t worry more noodz droppin soon jkkkkkkkk... kinda.) 😇
Tess has been married to Australian businessman, photographer, and artist, Nick Holiday since 2015. The couple has a son, Bowie together, as Tess had a child, Rylee from a previous relationship.
She continues to inspire plus-sized women, to do more than they believe they can. Her life story in itself is inspiring.
