Bobby Brown is way past his drug addiction days. His career is likewise back on track. And along with the positive turn in his life, the 50-year-old is also back to being fit.
In recent months, Bobby’s photos on Instagram are a testament to the huge number of pounds he’s shed since peaking at 300. It is believed he lost close to a hundred pounds though he has yet to confirm the figure himself.
Nevertheless, knowing his exact weight is irrelevant since the evidence is in his photos. Staring back at us is a healthier, thinner man reminiscent of the one we first knew during his New Edition days.
THE TURNING POINT
Brown’s weight suffered after the tragic death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina in 2015 and understandably so. In 2017, his health took a drastic turn when he was rushed to the hospital for serious intestinal problems.
Coinciding with the near-death emergency, he was also diagnosed with high blood pressure and high levels of cholesterol.
COMMITTING TO A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE
Determined to regain his health back, Bobby committed himself to daily workouts and a strictly organic diet. His wife, Alicia Etherige backed him all the way.
By October 2018, Bobby was a totally new man performing in a live show. It was the sweet culmination to his weight loss journey.
The following months showed Bobby maintaining his figure. It probably helped that he’s also been busy with gigs with RBRM. Fans agree he looks good.
HONORING HIS LATE DAUGHTER
It’s been four years since Bobby’s weight spiraled after the death of his daughter with Whitney Houston. Last month, to celebrate Bobbi Kristina’s 4th death anniversary, he shared a touching post and launched a foundation in her memory.
The Bobbi Kristina Serenity House aims to help men and women through its 24-hour crisis intervention line and emergency transition shelter.
Bobby tells his daughter in his tribute that the foundation “is doing great things to help others in need, the way you would have if you were here.”
