For season 28 of “Dancing With the Stars (DWTS),” a partial image of one of the celebrity contestants was revealed. The black and white photo featured an African American man wearing a suit and holding a large disco ball over his face.

The caption from the post read: “This star has iconic ball skills. He’s ready to work for the Mirrorball! #DWTS.” The teaser had fans commenting with their guesses on which celebrity it could be.

A number of “DWTS” fans and viewers responded to the post guessing Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant was the contestant. Fans used a number of things visible to them to make their guesses.

Some guessed it was the former NBA player, who retired in 2016, based on his hands. Other fans thought the hint meant it was another former iconic NBA player, Magic Johnson.

Some thought it could be Michael Jordan or even current player Lebron James. Sticking to the basketball theme, some fans thought it was Scottie Pippen, Dwayne Wade, and Michael Jordan.

Steph Curry was also named among the many possibilities. Jordan seemed like a likely candidate as the pair of bracelets seen on the celebrity’s wrist match the ones worn by the former star in an image on an Instagram fan account.

However, one fan noticed the celebrity's crooked pinky finger and likened it to a picture of Bryant's hands. The fan speculated that the person in the mysterious image had the same crooked pinky.

Other rumored competitors for the show include “Dance Moms'” Abby Lee Miller, “Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown, and “Bachelorette” star Hannah Brown. Fans will, however, need to wait for Wednesday morning for the cast to be officially announced on “Good Morning America.”

ABC entertainment president Karey Burke would only share that the cast would be “really good.” In a previous interview, she stated: “I’m quite excited about the casting they’ve put together.”

“Dancing With the Stars” season 28 will premiere on September 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
