DWTS' Artem Chigvintsev Won't Be Tuning into Each Episode of Season 28 after Surprise Cut from Cast
Pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev said he would not be watching the 28th season of "Dancing With The Stars" after he was unexpectedly cut from the show.
Artem Chigvintsev was shocked when he learned that he would not be busting a groove in the new season of "DWTS."
When Chigvintsev got a call that said he would not be cast in the 28th season of the dance show on August 16, he was utterly devastated.
"It's kind of hard to digest, especially after being with DWTS for so long."
The news came as a terrible surprise for him and he was in loss for words. A few days later, Chigvintsev opened up about how he felt after hearing the news on his girlfriend Nikki Bella's podcast "The Bellas."
A "SHOCKING" NEWS
Chigvintsev had been a part of "DWTS" for 10 years. The dancer was "99% sure" that he would be cast in the next season.
"I don't know where to begin to be honest with you. 'Obviously, it was a massive shock. Having those calls is never, never, never fun," he said.
He is so heartbroken that he won't be tuning in to watch the show this season.
ARTEM WON'T BE WATCHING "DWTS" THIS SEASON
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the dancer opened up about how he is handling his unexpected exit from "DWTS." According to him, the news was "hard to digest."
"My goal for the last week has been just trying to come up with a future plan, coming up with ideas for what I want to do," he said. "But [it's hard] seeing what all my fellow pros are doing on social media. It's kind of like always in your face in a way, you know? It's like a reminder of what could have been, and what it is at the moment. So it's kind of a bittersweet feeling right now."
Chigvintsev also shared that he is trying to get used to the idea that he won't be a part of "DWTS" anymore. He is currently thinking about other things he would like to pursue.
The dancer further revealed that he wouldn't be watching the new season because "the feelings of not being there would flood back."
"I think as far as right now, definitely no," he said of watching," he said. "Not because I'm not supporting the show or all the people who are there, but I think if I were to [watch], all of the feelings of not being there would just flood back."
SHARNA BURGESS WON'T BE JOINING THE "DWTS" BALLROOM EITHER
Along with Chigvintsev, pro dancer Sharna Burgess has also been cut from the dance show. She took to Instagram to share the sad news with her fans on August 21.
Fans were devastated to learn that one of their favorite dancers won't be a part of the show.
According to Chigvintsev, the producers did not give a solid reason as to why they fired them from the show.
FIRED WITHOUT A SOLID EXPLANATION
When ET asked Chigvintsev whether the producers of "DWTS" gave them a solid why he and Sharna would not be a part of the show anymore, he said that they did give any explanation.
"No. Usually, we get an explanation of what the executive reasoning was behind it. I kind of got the generic one, like, "Hey, we tried to pair you up with the [celebs] but unfortunately we couldn't pair you up with who we think would go best with [you]." I don't know, it was just kind of like -- I don't want to say an excuse -- but the typical thing they say normally, from what I heard in the past [from former pros]," he revealed.
According to Chigvintsev, Sharna is more shocked over the news than he is since she won the Mirrorball Trophy for the Fall 2018 season of "DWTS."
