Joke: College Freshman's Mom Sends Him More Money Than Her Husband Expected
Lighten up and have a laugh with the most recent #jokeoftheday! A college freshman kindly asked money from his mom, who so generously gave him $500 in a very witty manner.
Starting out college means being more independent and making money fit into daily expenses while being able to save a little. This college freshman hasn’t gotten the hang of things yet and ended up being broke.
He called his mother to tell her about his financial situation and ask for money. His mother generously agreed to send him money along with his textbook that he left at home.
“Sure sweetie,” she said. “I will send you some money. You also left your calculus book here when you visited two weeks ago. Do you want me to send that too?”
Thrilled, the freshman boy agreed and said, “uhh, oh yeah, okay.” His mom then wrapped the book and mailed it with the money. Her husband then asked how much she sent to their son, to which she replied:
“Oh, I wrote two checks, one for $20, and the other for $500.”
The father was shocked by the significant amount she had sent, asking what went on in his wife’s mind to send their son a grand total of $520. She replied:
“Don’t worry honey, I taped the $20 check to the cover of his book, but I put the $500 one somewhere in… chapter 19!”
Perhaps the boy will learn a valuable lesson of regret after finding out what he missed out on. If in high school, he couldn’t go out for lunch because it was restricted, in college, he can’t go because he can’t afford it.
