The Weeknd Unveils Full 'Fro and New Mustache at 'Uncut Gems' TIFF Premiere & Inspires Memes

The Weeknd shocked fans when he attended the "Uncut Gems" premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival in a 'fro and mustache that made him look straight out of the '70s.

The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, was almost unrecognizable as he attended the "Uncut Gems" premiere in Toronto, sporting an afro and a slim, long mustache. "Uncut Gems" is the singer's film debut, where he plays himself and appears for a couple of minutes in the crime drama film.

Surprised with his new look, fans can't seem to stop making memes out of it, comparing him to different people and creating situations out of the photos.

Abel's Hairstyle Transformations

His new look at the premiere made heads turn, especially because fans of the singer know that he's had a couple of hair transformations in the past, and this seems to be the most extreme.

When The Weeknd rose to fame thanks to his musical talent, he sported his signature structural dreadlocks, which he only cut off in 2016 for the unveiling of his album "Starboy." He then donned a more angular hairdo, which he's kept the same with occasional cornrow braids.

Now though, the singer-actor decided to go with a full-on afro and matched it with a slim mustache that makes him look like a '70s action star.

Celebrating New Chapters

Every time The Weeknd changes his hairstyle, it's always to celebrate something new in his life. In this case, it's to commemorate his chapter towards becoming a movie star, and possibly, being single.

Abel Tesfaye dated Bella Hadid for quite some time. The pair were infamous for their on-and-off relationship, which lasted for a couple of years.

In early August, the pair was reported to have ended their years-long relationship for good, due to long-distance and their conflicting schedules as Hollywood personalities.

Now that he's on a mission to become the next big movie star, everyone can't wait to see if he's about to make his afro his next signature hairstyle.
