Everything We Know about Upcoming Season of 'the Good Doctor'
"The Good Doctor" has officially been renewed for a third season, and here's everything we know about the upcoming season of the hit medical drama television series.
According to ABC, the latest season of "The Good Doctor" is set to premiere on September 23, 2019, at 10 p.m.
ABC has not exposed any significant cast changes for the next season.
The series follows Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young autistic surgeon with savant syndrome. He relocates to San Jose, California, to work at the renowned San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.
Despite the fact that he can't interface with others, Shaun has remarkable medical skills.
The upcoming season will bring major changes for Shaun's character as the show explores new improvements in his love life, according to Country Living.
His possible latest sweetheart won't be the only new face in the corridors of St. Bonaventure.
After Lisa Edelstein's appearance as Dr. Marina Blaize, another star from the hit television series "House" will show up on the show.
TVLine has learned that Robert Sean Leonard, who is best known for playing Dr. James Wilson, will guest-star on Season 3 of "The Good Doctor."

The actor will appear as Shamus O'Malley, a devoted sports fisherman. His appearance on the series will give the viewers the opportunity to see him as a patient as he is rushed to the hospital following a fishing mishap.
Meanwhile, ABC has not exposed any significant cast changes for the next season. Likely, the rest of the cast — Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Beau Garrett, Hill Harper, Richard Schiff, Will Yun Lee, and Tamlyn Tomita — and the other actors who play the staff of St. Bonaventure Hospital will return.
"The Good Doctor," which debuted on September 25, 2017, is based on the 2013 award-winning South Korean series of the same name. It is primarily filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The series has gotten mixed reviews from critics, with specific applause given to Freddie's performance.
